how can boki go from being a good 6th man to a complete scrub over one summer is baffling. its getting to a point where he's a walking turnover or missed shot. this may sound crazy but i say sit him down for awhile or limit his minutes because other then outside shooting, he provide absolutely nothing, not even average, he's subpar at everything otherwise known as one dimensional.



also, whats the deal with krstic? he still looks awful out there, just like before he took months off, if he still going to get paid this summer or will he be forced to sign a one year deal?

What one dimension is he good at? Definitely isn't shooting anymore.
 
I saw him dunk for the first time last night.

Last year he was a mix machine. I feel sorry for that guy who always makes youtube highlights of him because he is always out of bounds.

He's got 19 on the season. Not great, but not too bad. He gets blocked on dunks a lot.
 
Yeah, Boki's been trash. His defense has been non-existent, his shooting has been way too inconsistent, and his penetration rarely gets him anywhere. And he rarely does it, anyways. He's a turnover machine.

I still don't get why Frank had him in so long last night. I mean, what the hell game is he watching? He should've put in a big, and taken advantage of size and lack of post players on the Magic. At least have Vince and RJ get in the lane more, and get Dwight in foul trouble. It seemed as if we had no game plan yesterday, other than to let Vine and RJ shoot wherever, whenever, let Marcus play streetball, and rely on Boone to hold down Dwight AND the lane at the same time.

Frank seems against playing two frontcourt players at the same time...which is stupid. We'd be a stronger team utilizing all 5 of our frontcourt players and focusing on Boki and Hassell backing up at the 3 position depending on situation...If we need scoring then insert Boki, if we need defense insert Hassell.

With Hedo and Lewis the Nets needed to match up. He tried an athletic big like Sean, but he sucked. Nenad got abused. The bigs can't keep up with Lewis and Turkoglu. And on offense they needed a shooter because the Magic were packing the paint with Howard down there. I was hoping to see more Hassell in place of Boki, but he wasn't very good last night either. I thought he would do a better defensive job on Lewis.
 
Is it me, or does Boki seem to get called for travelling A LOT?

Seems like 1 out of every 5 times he catches a pass, he shuffles his feet making a move and gets called for a travel.

I actually would have liked to seen him try Swift on Lewis...besides I think offensively having to bigs is important as well.

If they can shoot. The Magic's game plan is to pack the paint. Without shooters you aren't going to open things up. As it was, when Boone or Diop were in the game, Howard had no one to come out and guard.

So you put Boki and RJ on Lewis/Turk. How did that work out? 25 from each, combined 15-23 shooting, 5-8 from 3, 15-20 from the free throw line, and only 3 turnovers, from Turks.

Great to see how that worked out! At least the bigs can block the shit outta Turk and/or Lewis when they come to the rim, instead of being a revolving door on defense most of the time.

If that was Frank's way of thinking, then I really question his abilities as a coach.

Well, Frank fell for it, and their game plan obviously worked. I don't see why we couldn't at least try to get in the paint, and get the ball to the bigs more. There were times when Boone was left open, and Marcus/Vince/RJ would blindly pull up for a shot...which ended up being a brick most of the time.

Besides, it wouldn't matter to put more shooters in the game. It's not as if those shooters would consistently make shots anyways.

We had the size advantage, and didn't take advantage of that at all.

I would actually like to See Boone and Swift or Swat on the court while we run a 3-2 zone defense and allow Hedo and Lewis to drive the lane...With our dearth of bigs and Boone playing solid on Howard players like Swift, Swat and Diop could could negate there abilty to get to the rim...and hurt there offensive rebounding.

Also by allowing and trusting the two frontcourt players our wing players could focus on guarding the perimeter and not have to continually collapse to the lane to prevent layups.

Well you had to leave RJ in. As for the other spot I was hoping Hassell would do well, but he didn't. If you put Diop or Sean they would've been blown by everytime or they would've sagged off so much that Hedo/Lewis would've been putting on a shooting clinic.

Was a bad match-up that the Nets played well against for 44 minutes. They gave up only 44 points in the 1st half. You can make the argument that maybe Swift should have got some time or even Ager, but it's not like they were struggling all game in search of something that works.

he's always been a bad shooter, prior to last year, he was like a 39% shooter for his career and was benched in NO
