<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Richard Jefferson going to Milwaukee …. HAHAHA! Oh man, now that is funny. When I heard that, I started laughing. Oh man, did I start laughing. You know why? Because every player hates Milwaukee. Nobody wants to live in Milwaukee. I’m sorry, Milwaukee, to come down hard on you, but no one in the NBA wants to play in Milwaukee. From him going from New Jersey, actually from New York (because he lives in New York), from New York to Milwaukee is like going … let’s just say it’s not going to sit well with you. That was a funny one when I heard that one. I know Yi is happy though.</div>

Im sure Gilbert endeared himself to fans from Milwaukee

The guy's just being honest.

It's like that episode of Mike Beasley's pre-draft show, where he gets a call from his Kansas State teammate who's from Minnesota. Beasley basically says the same thing without being as direct as Gil, railing on how cold it is, etc.

Can you blame these guys though? Who would want to play for a team like Minnesota or Milwaukee, two cold, uninteresting, mid-sized cities in mid-America with teams that aren't winning a title any time in the next ten years.

I would say that Memphis would be worse, but at least Memphis has warm weather year round.

EDIT: Just thought of one more - Utah.

Gotta be a player's worst nightmare to play for the Jazz.

Ah, the smell of the air from the south farms vs. the smell of the air from the garbage dumps.

Huh? In Milwaukee, you get the smell of the air from the lake, sometimes yeast from the Brewery.

Or the pleasant sight of an unending supply of bums.

God damn Rescue Mission.....

I've been to Milwaukee many times.

Alwives

Gotta love the smell.

Agreed... Not only are you in Utah... You have to play for Sloan, and you got AKry 47 as ur teammate.

lol.

I guess Jefferson can never really win, though. He moves from a place where fans don't to want to come to a place where players don't want to come.

What is Milwaukee like? In terms of population, weather etc.

I'd love to play in Minnesota or Milwaukee, but that might be the Canadian in me. I love the cold.

We had an unusually long winter. We nearly broke the city record for most snow in a year. It sucked.

It started getting warm in Mid-May. You could start wearing shorts in April; but it wasn't really comfortable weather until Mid-May. It took forever to warm up.

Then WI got hit by a lot of rain/flooding this summer. I-94 was shut down for awhile where it had apparently flooded over, between Madison and Milwaukee.

So, the weather its gotten this year has been pretty extreme and atypical.

When I was up in Milwaukee for SummerFest, the weather was nice and warm. That was end of June...

so basically RJ will be putting snow tires on his Lambo.

rj just has to wait until he gets traded to the heat for marion or to the lakers for odom...

I've lived in the MidWest most of my life and I couldn't take the Milwaukee area for more than 8 months. My wife and I try to pretend that we never went through that hell

Haha, ol' Gilbert. As Dark noted, they're really good friends. That is funny though, haha!

Actually, jirohkanzaki, the US dollar and the Canadian dollar are about even right now. I'm not sure what the taxes are like though.

I wouldn't mind living in a cold climate, it's the South that really scares me; I can't stand it. For me the worst thing in the world would be to get drafted by the Grizzlies.

*and by worst thing in the world I mean not really but you know where I'm going with this.

nba players in toronto are paid in $US (or the $C equivalent) and pay the higher Canadian taxes which went up even more (in the nba players' point of view) because the $US went down...
