I think you’d be happier if you didn’t take things like that personally. I’ve been complimented for not sagging my pants. I just say thanks, and forget about it.

I was in a friends wedding recently, and the only white people there were some of the groomsmen. After the wedding, back at the hotel, I was walking by a group of the grooms family, his sister was there a little drunk. She saw me and goes “Oh there’s one! What’s his name? Tyler? Hey Tyler!!”

She was the bridesmaid I walked down the aisle, so I think she just wanted to say hi, but she forgot my name.

I was power walking to the bathroom to take a piss, so I didn’t make eye contact, and since she didn’t say my name, I just went to the bathroom. I figured I would see her when I walked out, but she was gone. So I just went back to smoking my cigar outside.

If I wanted to take that situation a bad way, I could’ve. But I’m pretty sure she didn’t call me Tyler, just as a funny generic white name, to be mean or something. And I don’t think she meant “there’s one” in a bad way. She probably meant, there’s a groomsman. Because there were like 12 groomsmen total.

If someone gives you that compliment, I think you should just take it as a compliment.

I wouldn’t give a cop a reason either, but only because I know that the legal system is rigged against us, and cops get away with murder, assault, etc. everyday.

It’s funny, I was watching this show called Outlander, on STARZ, it’s about 18th century Scotland, and England.

An English officer goes on Scottish land, and ends up beating and whipping a guy in front of his sister, that he wanted to rape. And there was nothing they could do about it obviously.

I laughed cause the same shit goes on in America almost 300 years later (minus the rape in front of family members).

I have first hand experience. I watched supervisors beat people and was black balled for saying something. It wasnt race related in my area though. I actually saw mostly white people get beat. Sure they were being dick heads, but it's not justification for beating them when they are handcuffed. There are lots of good cops, unfortunately they are threatened with the thin blue line bullshit if they snitch. Most guys cant afford to lose the paycheck and they drive themselves insane because they hate seeing the wrong thing done and knowing they will be punished if they speak up.
