He also brought his name up couple days ago randomly saying he does a bunch of things that go unnoticed. In years past he's talked highly of him as well. It's pretty obvious he's got a crush.
So I've come up with a trade
To Minnesota: Turner, Ed Davis, and Caleb Swanigan
To Portland: Georgui Dieng, Shabazz Muhammad, Cole Aldrich
Why Minnesota does this: Thibs gets his boy Turner, and a young prospect in Swanigan. Davis replaces Dieng, who's been underutilized by Thibs (only averages 17mpg) and fits the type of player Thibs likes. Shabazz is not in Minnesotas rotation. Neither is Aldrich. Long term this also saves them money.
Why Portland does it: We dump Turner to maybe the only team that'd be interested while adding Dieng who profiles behind Nurk as well as next to him. Shabazz gets an opportunity to play and gives us a wing scorer off the bench. Aldrich is filler, and we can probably move him elsewhere, his contract is not an issue. Financially were not adding salary in this deal.
Now what's Neil's email
