My dad had season tickets since 76, so a lot of memories there. I too stood against the wall for the standing room only, along with sitting on the benches at the top. The games though, were what I remember most.
1. Game 6 against Spurs - 1990
2. Bates at the horn
3. Whenever Boston or LAL came to town
4. The near perfect quarter against the Spurs
5. Game 2 against the Suns - 1990

Can't wait to hear the Schonz tonight during the 3rd quarter.

Frye will ruin it by going off for 48 on us.....Unless he ate 78 Buffalo Wings at Fire on the Mountain again.

Frye is gonna dunk on Greg the first play of the game!!!!!

My friend on facebook just told me her fav memory was the New Kids on the Block concert!

My #1 memory will always be from the Blazers' first season. The defending champion Knicks were in town, and the baby Blazers (led by Barnett and Petrie) blew them off the floor. Sadly, the glass palace wasn't even sold out that night....but the fans that were there were *real* fans - and they blew the roof off.

The thing a lot of people who have never seen a game there is how LOUD that place got! There is no "acoustic cloud" on the ceiling like the RG! It's just steel and metal! I hope this game tonight is up and down fast break action so it will be rockin'!

I saw my first rock concert there in 1973. Pink Floyd. Unbeavable.

I thought the acoustic cloud was reversed during blazer games to bounce the sound not absorb it. At least that's how it was explained to me when the RG was built. However, the MC will always be louder. I wonder if it will be as loud without the curtain.

You might be right man. Just always seemed louder at the MC!

I wonder if that place still has the old school organ?

I saw my first live Blazer game there in 1990 with my grandparents. It was against the Hornets and I remember being amazed with how small Mugsy Bogues was.

I saw Tool in 2007. It was the worst of the three times I've seen them, but it was still a great show. It was worth the 5 hour drive from Olympia. I had to take a huge detour due to I-5 being flooded out.

I saw the Chili Peppers there in 2003. It was a good show, but I've since grown tired of RHCP.

I was at that Tool concert.

Some of my earliest memories are being at the MC during Blazers games with my grandparents who had season tickets. I remember, I never went to the bathroom during halftime because there was absolutely no space to walk around and you were constantly bumping into people and the bathroom line would go well into the 3rd quarter.

Jay Alllen said they're gonna keep the curtains up and let natural light come in.

That was the only game I got to see in the Coliseum. I won tickets in the lottery system they had (a pair) and I drove all the way to Portland from Bend because I was going to college at Central Oregon Community College at the time. I have never been so fucking stoked after a basketball game than that one. Adrenaline from that win lasted for hours.:ghoti:

Yes. That game was insanely awesome. I'm not sure why blazer broadcasting doesn't re broadcast that one again. That game was great. I was down one moment and then pumped up in another.

I wasn't there but watched it on blazers cable through one of those massive satellites.

I'm too young to remember it, the Rose Garden opened when i was like 6...

They brought the guy back who used to play back in the day. He played for awhile during the game. Very cool.

Hey HCP, I saw you sitting in section 3, row D seats 1 and 2 with your wife. You had the red blazer hat on, white t-shirt, black jacket, tan shorts and your wife was wearing a dark jacket with blue jeans. I thought about coming over to you and say hi but I was working. Who was that blonde that sat in front of you when you had your left leg stretched out? Seems like you had a lot of friends there at the arena. BTW, your wife looks good. Shes a keeper!

You should have stopped by and said what was up man! The blonde is my brother's wife's sister and I am trying really hard to get her to have a threesome with my wife and I.. Hopefully by Christmas!

Oh cool HCP. Having avatars that depict you as yourself makes things easier when you are spotted in the crowd. :) I sent you a pm regarding to your comment.
I could tell that a lot of people noticed the black tarp gone from the bowl showing the glass windows. That was a nice touch. However, the ceiling panels need to be replaced and better lighting in the MC. For some reason it seemed louder than the RG at times.

The last time I went to a game there, until Wednesdays pre-season game vs. the Suns was against the Lakers, most likely during the final season at the MC.

I don't remember much from it other than a few Jerome Kersey dunks.

I also remember seeing a few monster truck shows there.

Going back last week was actually a really fun experience since I haven't been there for an event in 14 years. I felt so much closer to the action and it seems like there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Plus, I liked seeing the Steel Bridge and the tree lined horizon from the inside before the sun went down. It's too bad they couldn't do that for the RG, it really gives the place a true northwest feel to it.
