No contradictions my friend, I said if oden and the 2005 bynum were both in a draft i would have taken Oden, but today knowning where both players stand today, i would take Bynum. And i did not know Andrew had more than one knee surgery. Also that lakers team had Kobe, Radmanovic, Odom and fisher ahead of Bynum. He was in for his defensive presense alone, Not scoring.
 
If you were Kevin Prichard would you trade Oden straight up for Bynum? It's a simple question.

Truthfully, I dont know. I NEED to see how Oden plays first to make that decision, but at this point Bynum is the proven/better player.

Ok the kid is 20 years old and averaged just about 13 points per game, that is not bad at all imho. And like i said before, He needs to improve offensively, but 13ppg for his first year as a starter is not so bad for a 20 year old freak. And Honestly I dont expect Bynum to score 30 a night, 2 or 3 years from now hell be a 20-10 guy for sure.

Odom averaged 14 ppg while fisher almost 11. So he was behind Kobe and just a tad behind Odom (1 more ppg than Bynum)whom is a proven vet and an all around player.
Once again, scoring is not his forte but he isnt horrible either.

What?! He really didnt need to score all that much ( Besides kobe, the scoring was pretty well balanced) and he is a YOUNG player. Can you point to me where I said that he didnt score good enough because of his age? Thank you.

The first sentence says that he averaged 13ppg while not needing to score more on a well balanced team correct?
The second sentence says that he is merely 20 years old ( as is Oden BTW) and that on his first year as the starting C he averaged 13ppg right?
I dont see where i used his age as an impediment for his scoring. Also can you tell me what makes you think Oden is better than Bynum? And can you prove it?

ARGH! I thought I did already.. I wouldnt make that trade now because I dont know how Oden will do in the upcoming season(since he hasnt played a game ever), But get back to me in a year or so. I know what Bynum can do, but I dont know what Greg can. And since he was labeled "The next Tim Duncan" I will have to wait and see how he does first before I make my decision.

Oden was pimped big-time by a lot of people throughout his college season and going into the draft. As if he is the next LeBron type player (franchise, not position-wise).

Bynum has been brought along so slowly that Lakers fans have voiced a lot of displeasure with his lack of PT all along. Last season, he looked like an absolute beast at both ends. They still limited his PT, and he did suffer an injury.

Both players suffered injuries, in fact, and Oden played hurt his college season, too. It's hard to say whether they're both going to be injury prone or have shorter than expected careers at this point.

Bynum's play was so outstanding, you might say he's growing into the same class as Dwight Howard (not there quite yet).

Would anyone trade the two players for one another? It'd actually be a good trade, but pointless. It's certain that Bynum has proven what he minimally can do at the pro level, which is not so certain with Oden (though expected).
 
If you wouldn't trade Oden straight up for Bynum, I can only conclude that you agree with Kid Chocolate and would have selected Oden before Bynum.

I never said he had more than one knee surgery. I said he's had at least one other knee injury. He missed half of his senior year of high school with a knee problem.

Dude you are giving me a headache. For this game (S2 Draft game) I will take Bynum over Oden every single time.. why? Because I know what Bynum provides unlike Oden who is unproven. In real life I would have to wait a year or so to make that decision, however in this game I take bynum because we dont judge on potential only, we go by if your team can beat the other team and how can you that (Show that you can beat an opponent) with a player that has never even played a game in the NBA?

Not necesarily. While you can estimate ( for this game) what a rookie might give you, at the same time you cant exaggerate and say that OJ mayo will average 25ppg in his rookie season or that Oden is going to give you 21-10 for the entire season.. theres something called the rookie wall i believe.
But obviously you are not going to take Steven Hunter or Foyle over Beasley or Mayo.

I think if I were an NBA GM drafting from a pool of all NBA players I would select Greg Oden over Andrew Bynum. If I had Oden I would never trade him for Bynum. If I had Bynum I'd trade him for Oden in a second. Who disagrees with this?
 
Oh, I see. More people who think being an NBA GM means the world will blow up in June, 2009. Now it's not just a matter of picking old players, but a justification for picking worse prospects over better ones. Bleh. Let's just base the whole draft on 1998.
