Go after Aaron Brooks?

Brooks isn't the guy we need. It would be like Damon Stoudamire 2.0

Any better alternatives? Brooks is young and has proven he can score and shoot the 3 in this league. He may be undersized, but his ability to spread the floor makes up for it, plus it's not like he's a bad playmaker.

Brooks is a better Patty Mills...

I'd rather not go after a player like him.

Ya know what's funny? How posters don't get that we have no pg waiting to take over for miller. Brooks or Harris coming here would be about as good as you could "realistically" hope for. Here's the blazers option....

1. Resign miller

2. Draft a pg in a shitty draft

3. Patty mills

4. Armon Johnson

5. Trade for Harris, Brooks, or another decent young pg.

Hmmm

I think Brooks is attainable. I bet Houston shops him. Batum is too much though. Give them a young player and both first round draft picks. But definitley not Batum. That would just create a hole at another position.

No I woulnt trade batum but he would be the perfect fit. Scorer and from Oregon.

Brooks can't even challenge Kyle Lowry for the reins to the Rockets.

With a team option on Andre for next year, we have 2 drafts to find our PGOTF.

It's not like there's any rush now. We have maybe 4 guys we're going to hang onto.

We have an entire team to rebuild, again.

Holy crap.... I agree.

Repped.

Brooks our starting PG? No thanks.

They would demand Batum? Ha, ha! Good one.

Brooks is a better Patty Mills...
Exactly. So let's send them Patty Mills. Brooks would be fine coming off our bench, IMO.

Rofl....what makes you think the Rockets would swap Brooks for a worse Brooks?

Which "young player"? Who are you suggesting they would want? Babbitt?

As do I. After watching his performance in the playoffs two years ago, I'm convinced he can ball. He's just in a slump this year after coming off injury, and Adelman isn't letting him play through the difficulties.

I don't. We'd have to include more. I thought the premise, though, was that there is trouble in Rocket land, the trouble is Brooks, so perhaps a parting of the ways is in order. Maybe I misread the premise of the thread? Either way, I think a Brooks for Patty + bench player or pick is closer to fair than Brooks for Batum, as someone suggested. Brooks has talent, but let's not get carried away. We need a better starting PG than Brooks, but he'd be a good upgrade to any of our bench point guards. It's worth a phone call. :)

Who do we put....

Rudy?

Babbitt?

....

Lol.

Why trade for a guy who wasn't extended? If I remember right, Houston did not give him an extension. So why trade anything for him when you can pick him up out of free agency?

he has same qualifying offer that Green and Oden have this summer. He is a RFA not a UFA

Yep and what do you think the chances of Houston re-signing him are now that things seem to be blowing up out there between the two? The chances of Houston wanting to match anything, are probably pretty poor.

and Sac will likely make him an offer with their capspace this summer, we have no capspace but I think have the MLE and we have more than one big need, so do you try to get him now and offer him a deal? then do his QO or match an offer he gets?

Not true. We kept Dan Dickau around for way too long, simply because the dude grew up around here.

Dickau bounced around the league for too long because he was actually good for a 3rd string PG.
