Lakers vs. Rockets.... Don't we want the tickets to lose?

Absolutely! Lakers aren't even in our radar. Hope they beat any playoff western conference team.

Sounds odd but yes. Another reason is that we dont want the Lakers to get the #1 pick either, they should be bad forever.

Go Lakers. Undefeated when Nick Young plays. I will always root against teams in front of us.

I've grown to hate the Rockets more than the Lakers.

Blind hatred clouds the mind.

Exactly... Lakers aren't a factor of worry unless we play them in the regular season. As long as they are beating the western conference playoff teams, I will be happy. Every other game they can lose! :)

I hate the lakers as much as ever, but due to current circumstances I just don't care about them today. But, I hate the rockets. So I root for the rockets to lose, and don't care about their opponent.

If you hate the Lakers , and I do, then you have to root for them to finish around 6th. I think they are top 5 protected? Anyways for long term suckage we do not want them drafting a super star. So they need to win just enough......So root for them to beat the teams we are battling for playoff positions.

Are there any real stars in this draft?

I want a septuple-overtime game to end in a tie because every player on both teams sustains a painful injury and are unable to continue. Furthermore, I want both coaching staffs we ejected in toto.

Rockets/L*kers to me is like the Iran/Iraq War. I simply wanted it fought to bloody stalemate that ground both countries to dust.

I get the whole moral obligation thing, but I think its also imperative to keep and eye on the current threat more so than the non threat "moral" angle.

And truly if you want that franchise to suck long term... Then you want them to be good enough to not get top picks and bad enough to not threaten for the playoffs, bottom end of mediocrity.

i hate the rockets just as much as the lakers. and that's a lot. good enough?

Growing up I hated the Lakers until the age of 16.
However now that I've got older, and my basketball IQ has gone up.
I don't hate the Lakers anymore. I will even root for them in certain games... like the one they played last night vs my most hated team.
I'm in the minority of Blazer fans who don't hate Kobe.
But I also don't hate The Big Ticket. Never have, never will.

I hate Laker fans a million times more than I will ever have the team itself and I do hate the team a lot.

Also our meltdown playoff game against Lakers changed me as a basketball fan in a bad way and I will never forgive LAL for that.

With all of that said my love of the Blazers is stronger than my hatred of the Lakers could ever be and as a result I will also root for whatever benefits the Blazers outside of Blazer games themselves. I just try my best to root for the other team to lose more than the Lakers to win

L*ker hatred is a moral imperative and is not subject to conditional modifiers. Go Rockets.
Agree with the first part.

As for the second: As is the case every season, I, like Mark Cuban, want the Lakers to suck. But I don't want them to suck enough to get a top 10 draft pick, or worse a top 5 pick, or heaven forbid the No. 1 pick. They need to suck just enough to be late lottery. That means they have to win a few games here and there to ensure their continued sucktitude. And a game against the Rockettes, or Blunder, or Clip Show is the perfect time for them to pull one out of Kobe's ass.

Go Flakers. This time.

If they get 6 to 16, it belongs to Phoenix

I yelled "Go Lakers" at home last night. My 8-year old daughter asked me "who are you and what did you do with my daddy?"

[she knows purple and gold are not allowed to touch in our house and understands why]

Its safe to root for the Lakers because if they win some more games and climb up to get the 6th worst record in the league their draft pick goes to Phoenix. I can think of no happier scenario.

I would rather them be like 12th worst. Terrible odds for the lotto
