Don't confuse advise and disrespect Bones...I'd tell my own son the same thing..good luck...starting a business usually takes 2.5 times as long and 2.5 times as much money as you think you'll need...if you want to give back, you need to trade some time for that money and not look at it as acting as a cog, but achieving your goal. You ask for help, you can expect a response.
You basically told me to go get a job and to "gofundmyself", as if suggesting that I was being lazy and that I'm not willing to fund myself when you didn't even understand the situation or the fact that I'm not relying on this for literally $600, but instead just as some money chipped in that might be able to help.

And if I ask for help, it doesn't mean I'm asking to be told what to do.

This is why I wasn't even comfortable posting this, because I knew somebody would misinterpret my motives, knowledge, or look at me as a young guy with a lot to learn, etc.

It was literally: "Here's something I'm trying to do. If you're generous enough to help, it would be greatly appreciated, if not it's fine." not "Here, go fund me because I'm to lazy to fund myself."

relax Bones...you're getting into the problem...think solution and by no means do you need to heed my advice...it's not personal..you have an idea...great..go with it. You're title says Gofundme.....isn't that sort of telling me to fund you? My response ...gofundyourself..

Still lame

I'm gonna start a gofundme to pay Katherine Schwarzenegger to do some tasteful nudes. Had no idea who she was until tonight. She is purrrrrrr deeeeeeeeeee.

I bet I'd get over 600 if people know who she is.

It's just the name of the site.

. I'm hoping that I can build a big community. All the features I stated are must haves. I just feel like there won't be plugins specific enough to what I'm trying to do but I need to dig a little more.

What do you think @HAAK72?

WordPress is certainly the most cost-effective option for you at this point...unless of course you receive enough donations on GoFundMe.com. Many of the themes nowadays come with built-in community features. Hell, even Blazersland.com has community features! Plugins on top of that will certainly give you everything you are looking for...and more! A lot of the plugins are free, but even the ones that aren't only require nominal fees.

Now for the greatest challenge...building a community and retaining users! That's the single biggest obstacle you will encounter. You will also be hard-pressed charging users for something that they can do for free many other places.

FWIW = my 2 cents

Thanks man!
Yeah I'll probably go with WordPress first. I look forward to the challenge of building the community. It's building the site which is a bit daunting.
