Wow, NateBishop3 gets not one, but two references in the article.

Don't read that stuff, ABM. :tsktsk:

You'll go blind.

"Kevin Garnnett was injured! WAAA! IT"S NOT FAIR!!! I BET GREG ODEN WILL GET INJURED TOO BECAUSE WAAA!!! KG!!! RING!!!"

Amidst a pile of awards and trophies, some of them being the 2005 National Boys Basketball Player of the Year, and the co-winner of Parade's High School Player of the Year, Oden ballooned to become a massive figure representing a new batch of future NBA stars.

Rep goes to whoever gets the right answer. Who was the other co-winner? Don't google it! That is not how I found out who it was.

Not sure the title of that piece accurately portrayed the content.

The article is a bit of a downer, but it is hardly a Bill Simmons' level "Oden is doomed" diatribe.

Oden has a lot to prove this season, and he needs to be mentally tough enough to deal with that. I know I sound like a broken record - but Oden would have been better off if people hadn't pinned such high expectations on him at such a young age.

Isn't that true of all of us?

Excuse me but that's impossible to say, he was 7 foot tall at such a young age that even if he had no interest in basketball people would expect him to play and be good in that.

The only broken record is people analyzing a player who has really yet to have a fair chance to play at full strength. I could only glance at this regurgitated article.

Greg is barely a sophomore in my book and I have no doubt he'll develop. .
