Gonna put it out there: LMA WILL STAY.

Exactly!!!! What Aldridge decides will determine what we plan to do this summer. I suspect if Aldridge bolts, we will do a 180 and completely retool the team, only keeping Dame, CJ and Leonard; building a team to compliment Dame. If Aldridge stays, then we stay the course and try and get a Gasol or Hibbert to replace Lopez, then bring in a FULL MLE vet to solidify the bench. On both scenarios, I still think we may trade Batum. His inconsistency has become a huge liability.

I would trade Nic. Unlike LA, who's future is very murky right now, I am fairly certain Batum will leave next summer. I really didn't get the impression he wanted to stay during the whole Minnesota ordeal. I could see some team overpaying him next summer because they missed out on Durant.

Send him to NOLA for Evans. NOLA needed a true SF and we really need a slashing SG.

I would rather send him to the east coast. Maybe Toronto would take him for DeRozan.
Doreen would definitely be an option. I think Toronto has a decent French Speaking Population as well. Or maybe that's Ontario?

Lillard gets killed for being a bad defender, and he is below average, no argument there. But he's a willing defender. He tries. He's just not big enough, athletic enough or savvy enough to deal with good screens, and the way we defend those, especially when Rolo's man is the screener, makes Lillard look worse than he is. He's left out to dry, trying to get through a big and then recovering onto his man while Rolo already has sunk back to the basket.

Lillard, if he doesn't get worn down and hurt by this, will get better. I am fairly confident of that. Honestly, if you can find a 5 who can do what Rolo already does but also is agile enough to hedge or blitz the pick-and-roll and still be able to recover once Damian is through the screen, Damian would probably be considered at least an adequate defender.

Dame fighting through screens is so weird. It's like hes so focused on his man he doesn't see the screener. The guy is able to literally seal him off |_ without putting up a fight. If you watch Parker or CP3, they always anticipate and move before the screener gets set. (most of the time)

It's the screener defender's job to let him know the screen is coming, so even that isn't all on Dame. I think we don't see enough good screening from our bigs, either, to fully appreciate what a good screener does. IMO, it's the one part of LA's game that I don't like, and I thought Rolo took a step backwards in that aspect this year -- I thought last year he was much better at sealing and creating a gap to roll to the hoop or a mismatch on the perimeter. Of course, we only seem to utilize the actual screen and roll with Batum and Rolo, so there's that, too ....

We have flexibility because there's a very good chance that we could lose Lopez, Wes, AA, etc. It's possible LA will decide to bolt simply because he isn't sure what our future holds.

I have very little doubt that Aldridge, Rolo, Wes, Lillard, and Batum are talking together after the season is over to figure out their plans.
I have much doubt that any of them have the Jeremy Lin mentality and talk about it before the season is over... Much Much doubt.
They're goal is to win a ring now, not play for next season.
They all want to win now, it's been said.

At least it wasn't like he played great and nobody else helped him.

I am 100% convinced he signs with us but only was ever 90% sure he would stay.

If LA leaves, I can't wait for the relevatory I Was Never Happy in Stump Town article in ESPN magazine.

I'm subscribed to their shitty magazine for some reason, I can't wait for him to be on the cover in a Knicks or Laker jersey, that will be fun.

I would LOVE to see LMA go to the Lakers. They'd constantly be fighting for the 8th seed.
