THE GOOD NEWS = CC Sabathia dropped 25 LBS.

THE BAD NEWS = It was his sandwich.

LMAO, and Sandoval will drop 100 lbs, by the time he sits on the dugout bench over the next year, and will not be allowed to eat in the clubhouse prior to or after a game. He must also drop 100 quid, to join Weight Watchers, who will wind up paying his salary, since he won't be able to collect or make the financial obligations of his contract for every lb over 300lbs, he weighs.

the Bosox will not have to pay his salary for not being in shape per his contract, but WW, will make him their #1 spokesman, his paltry pay will be a lifetime supply of cardboard food, and $1,000 a week pay. Thus he will open his own Taco stand in Hells Kitchen....

So he cut out the Capn Crunch again. Last time he lost weight he changed his center of gravity, lost velocity and f'd up his knee.

This comment reminds me too much of Fernando Valenzuela, when he first reported approx 50 lbs over weight in Vero Beach. Fernando's famous words, "I ate too many Tacos and Pepsi", Chee Boygah, Chee Boygah, Pepsi, Pepsi, Pepsi.

Seems like CC needs to utilize the Fernando Diet, and Pablo a starvation diet.....

You give someone almost $20M a year (5 yrs @ $95M) and you better make sure you get his fat ass into shape.

Exactly, IMO not only is Self Discipline becoming an extinct word; seems too often a player gets lazy, with Filthy Big over the top, Contracts. Then takes advantage, or to many liberties; on their new employer, to see just how little work they can do, for as much Money as possible. (Although out of shape, is at any time, with any Team, under any circumstances).

Any Athlete, failing to stay in top shape, is screwing the pooch, one reason Contracts IMO, should be more laden with incentives, than guaranteed dollars. With exceptions for injuries on the job......

You'd think a Highly Paid Athletes, would at least get in shape, stay that way, then be the TV Idols, they are for Millions of Kids watching their every move, even emulating their Heroes. Never forgetting for a moment, a Kid is watching their every move, somewhere. Where the hell did that kind of understanding go?

They have to start putting clauses into these contracts. For drugs, weight etc.

What about drugs that keep weight off?

Perhaps, the lack of NOT using those drugs to take weight off, Phen Fen? May be the very reason why Sandavol, and Montero, look like a Big and Small Brother, both with size 60 waists, and only a 28 inseam.....!

Lets not forget about that string bean in Texas Prince Fielder.

ah, I almost forgot the Prince of Hoagies. For a moment I was thinking Prince's problem was Genetic, now I know its pure gluttony. Hell if I weighed that much, the desert dwelling Indians, or Ravens would of had a smorgasbord, and I'd be it.

In Pablo's case, I think an entire flock of buzzards, coyotes, et al.; would of had their fill of Panda after pecking and tearing at him for a day or 2. There would be plenty left for the other animals of prey.....

Phen Fen. Not quite my friend. Let me introduce you to Fexaramine.

You'll hear the professor mention next generation analogs....that was me. Lots of upside, whole new class of drugs. Who knows, the patent royalties could be larger than ARods contracts...all of them.....or, could be worth squat. Time will tell.

Seriously contracts really need to have additional clauses. I know there's player unions etc so I'm not talking about anything drastic but weight requirments should be one of them. At least within 10-15 lbs.

Very Interesting article and video Tom. Thanks. What is your own professional opinion of Fexaramine; on the subject of Diabetics using it?

Personally, it kind of scares me to think of taking it.

1- Not that I need too, I'm not over weight.

2- As the article notes, it stays and works in the gut, rather intestines. My fear, what happens to a Pancreas already in distress? My chief fear is a incorrect signal to the brain, thinking I've ate, thus allowing the brain to send mixed signals, that I either need more insulin, or my pancreas secretions may over react; [*1]under react [*2]; or become painfully inflamed, til it is no longer a functional organ, at all . I didn't see any mention of as much. Tho' the PR for pro-diabetic results, leaves me wondering.

So would I be correct in saying, Fexaramine, would NOT leave a diabetic in distress, (in either or both ways noted); even tho' a normal Pancreas, would secrete more would it not, (when taking Fexara?). Tho' I've got a feeling Fexara, is created, to ensure this (pancreas condition will not exist?

last but not least, Thanks Professor.....!:tiphat::tiphat:

PS; it seems as much all meds, have a side effect, what would Fexara's be?

Rob, good questions. You need to look at the cited article to get into some of those particulars. To be clear, were talking about type II diabetes, non-insulin dependent.

The feedback mechanisms for bile acids are but one of several signaling processes in play. Bottom line, we store fat to counter periods of fasting. If you think you're eating regularly, no need to store fat. That is stored energy that can be tapped. And if you aren't taking in enough calories, you burn fat first. As with any metabolic control, there is going to be a balancing act. Don't know side effects until to feed this to people. I expect that since the compound passes through the gut, this will mitigate most typical issues.

Next 2 years will be very interesting.

Here's who MLB has as the heaviest players:
http://xfinity.comcast.net/slideshow/sports-10fattestbaseballplayers/12/

and the current tallest:
http://www.therichest.com/sports/baseball-sports/top-10-tallest-mlb-players-in-2014/

Looking at past Players, who towered over others, I see the typical bullshit PR data, to make a player seem more fit, or smaller in stature & gerth than they really are/were.

Terry Forster, PR stated in his career: 6'3" at 200 lbs. While Forster's Trainer, in the latter years of his career, stated Forster had problems weighing in at under 260 lbs....go figure.....! why even put height & size on any Teams Roster/PR?

http://www.gammonsdaily.com/happy-birthday-terry-forster-the-fat-tub-of-goo/

and a bit more-

Frank Howard 6'7” 255 lbs.

Don Baylor 6' 1” 190lbs. ***

***Bullshit, why do Sports data, always seem strewed, to make a guy look smaller than he really is. Even BB cards do as much, fudge the truth. No way in Hell Don was an inch under at least 6'5” and 260 lbs. At least the few times, I saw him up close in Anaheim, he towered over me at 6'1” and my brother at 6'3”. Don towered over my brother in heigth, tho' Daniel weighed in at 255, and honestly had wider XXXL shoulders, 1 or 2 XX's bigger than Baylor's shoulders.

Boog Powell 6'4” 230 lbs.***

(not buying this either), Powell looked more like 6'6”-7” and 260 easily.

Willie Horton 5'11” 209lbs. ***

You gotta' be kidding me, are all MLB scales intentionally 40 or more lbs off scale, with NO Calibration...!

Dave Winfield 6'6” 220 lbs.

Willie McCovey 6'4” 190 lbs.***

Again BS, Willie had to be around 230, for his size, he seemed slim, yet I bet he was more along the 6'6” mark. I know as a kid, everything looks bigger in memories than real life. But, I first saw/met McCovey when I was 10, & was a real Giant. But 10 years later, he sure didn't seem to of shrunk or lost any size, esp. Height.

Thanks again Tom.....

I'll have to look into Fexaramine, and keep one ear to the ground, in upcoming years, and trials....:tiphat:
