Im going to be in PDX Fri April 3rd and I want to go watch the Blazers/Thunder game. Does anyone know the best sport bar or resturant to watch the game ? With the whole Directv and Comcast fiasco can any of them even show it in that area? Yikes! Anyway, any help that can be offered would be greatly appreciated! How ironic would it be to be in PDX and not be able to watch the Blazers. I really feel for people in that situation.

Re: OT -- Good PDX Sports Bar?

...I will also need a heads-up on this topic for the playoffs as I WILL BE IN PDX for the first couple of games!!!

Re: OT -- Good PDX Sports Bar?

What area will you be in? Do you like big chain-style sports bars or more of the mom and pop thing?

Re: OT -- Good PDX Sports Bar?

The Cheerful Tortoise down by PSU is good. What part of Portland will you be in?

Re: OT -- Good PDX Sports Bar?

I heard this place was pretty cool. (although, if I'm not mistaken, only the Pearl location airs Blazer games. I could be wrong on that assumption, though.)

Don't know if they'll have the games, but a couple years ago I didn't have cable and watching the OSU Beavers baseball in the CWS at "The Sports Page" in Beaverton and "On Deck" in the Pearl. Can't say they were great by any means, but it beats the Hell out of the ESPN zone. I went to the one in Denver to watch last night's game and it was so horrible. Probably won't go back there anytime soon.

Watch the game? hell, go to the RG and buy some 300 level tix from scalpers!!

Re: OT -- Good PDX Sports Bar?

I'm sure the 300 level seats will be really cheap, considering the Blazers will be in Memphis. Or is Lil Wayne at the Rose Garden that night?

I go there all the time, but it's not a good place to watch a game. I don't even think they have Comcast SportsNet at that bar. The Cheerful Tortoise is a good spot. On Deck is not bad if you can get a place to sit. The City in downtown Portland is alright. Buffalo Wild Wings is always packed with Blazer fans (I think the team actually advertises BWW as the "official watch party" bar), so you have to get there early. The atmosphere there kind of blows, though.

Never been to The Agency, but I've heard they show the games there. And I think the guys from blazersedge held a watch party there a few weeks back.

The City has actually been shut down, Pop. Was disappointed when I first noticed that, as it was one of my prefered places to go to watch a game when downtown.
It's not downtown, but I have always been a big fan of the A&L on 60th & Glisan. It's even better now that you can't smoke in bars.

Big AL's in Vancouver has one of those mega screens and has a full service restaurant. They also have a nice area to play pool while you're watching the game.

Life of Riley: Right across the river from the rose garden in the Pearl. Lots of Plasma's, Beer's on Tap, and pretty young ladies as the night goes on.

The Agency: the "ultra-sports lounge", the place is dedicated to Blazers game's and then afterword's its dedicated to loads of fine young ladies..

Why wouldn't you just go to the game?

Go to Choppers in Cherry Creek next time.

I tried to get to the agency the other day. I could not find a parking spot ANYWHERE, due to the UO/OSU baseball game, so I went home:(

Re: OT -- Good PDX Sports Bar?

That place sucks, imo. I will never go back there again. Horrible waiters, food is average at best and the atmosphere sucks.

I went to the one at Tanasbourne.....pretty crowded...food was chill, just a bunch of chicken wings and beer. service was fine....luckily scored a sweet table by some bigscreens.

I was at the one downtown.

Don't forget about HOOTERS!

The Bullpen down by PGE Park is another good spot.

big al's in vancouver is ok but the service sucks big time, they've had way to much turnover in the sports bar.

i went to the agency before the OSU baseball game saturday, seemed like a nice spot. a lot of tvs and overpriced beer. also went to the marathon that day and it's passable but not preferred.

the cheerful tortise is good, but as long as you have some decent food/beer and the game is on, everything else is secondary.
