Goodbye LaMarcus: it was hard to love you, and now we don't have to any more. We won't hate you, unless you go to the Lakers or the Rockets. Then all bets are off. But some of us won't miss you as much as we should given how long you were with us and how many records you hold.

Thanks for that one series - that was pretty epic:

No thanks for causing the breakup of a pretty nice team. You already got my fave player traded and now my second and third fave players won't be re-signed. You were better than all of them, but you never really bonded with anyone. Props for not being just about the money, I guess.

*Pours out a 40 for the last nail in the coffin of the Pritchard Big Three*

Oh, and you people who were happy to see Batum go? Hope this kicks you in the nads.

(In the unlikely event LA stays, I was just kidding.)

Okay I'm going to give you a pass since Batum is your favorite player. I maybe right behind you if we can't keep LMA. But none of us were saying goodbye to Batum before he was traded. Stop acting like a virgin kid that blows his first load way too early.

@SlyPokerDog

Should we start the bidding of a permaban On the op for this thread with two jars of peanut butter and a new frisbee

Don't worry Sly: Aldridge will get out of the first round every year with the Spurs.

How's he gonna do that? Parker/Manu/Duncan are all older than dirt. So you think Kawhi and LA will be enough to propel them to greatness?

It would be interesting to see what Pop can get out of LMA.

That's essentially assuming that Pop "got more" out of Duncan. Does anyone think Duncan would have been less of a player under a different coach?

Instead, maybe say it this way...on a team that is one year away from just-about-back-to-back titles, do you think an upgrade of Splitter to LMA and a year-more-developed Kawhi can maybe get the Spurs back? They were a CP3 rainbow (and a TD fingernail) away from probably playing GSW in the WCF. (I think they would've crushed HOU)

Yes because LMA is the only reason why we've gotten out of the first round once since he's been here.

Where did I say that? Nice assumption, you know what they say about that.

Point being, it's not like we were ever q contender with him. Dude is acting like we just lost LeBron.

Pop has done a great job of limiting Duncan's minutes. I do see a lot of coaches being as careful with him.

No. Duncan is the one guy on those teams you can safely say no to

I think that has more to do with Parker finally looking his age. And Manu isn't remotely on the same level. Duncan is the only guy who is still playing at a high level. I don't know if adding Aldridge to that aging roster will be enough.

You brought up that we've only been out of the first round once since we've had LMA.

Side note: I've noticed that you get a little upset when people disagree with you. Debates and disagreements are what makes forums fun. If everyone agreed with each other this place would be boring. Also we have a strict no personal insult rule here. You can attack what someone writes but not the person themselves. You've pushed it a few times in previous posts. You are a very welcome addition here and I have enjoyed many of your posts.

Duncan is probably the only guy Popovich didn't get more out of; Duncan is one of the most talented players in NBA history. Popovich's brilliance has been turning the under-the-radar guys into either useful cogs in the machine or really valuable players.

You're being a little hard on the Beaver, June. I see nothing wrong with his posts in this thread.

I would definitely agree with this statement.
