Politics Google employee writes memo stating Google is anti-diversity of thoughts/political ideas

I mean, the Daily Caller is picking out the most extreme viewpoints and posting only those to imply that that's the only reaction. Google's own reaction has been that it's cool. As someone who likely doesn't share the author's politics at all, I also think it's fine for him to express that publicly, if he feels that way. I don't think he should be fired.

Google has a left-wing culture. That's fine, they're entitled to it. Employees are entitled to argue against it if they want.

Here's the memo itself that spurred this discussion

Seems mostly focused on trying to explain the gender gap from a biological standpoint. Also suggests ways to close the gender gap without gender-based discrimination.

I'm a conservative, so of course I'll be biased toward an anti-leftist argument. What do those on the other side of the spectrum think of the content of the memo?

"When addressing the gap in representation in the population, we need to look at population level differences in distributions. If we can’t have an honest discussion about this, then we can never truly solve the problem."

When concerns like the one above become the driving force of a business, it marks the beginning of the business, becoming irrelevant in the market place. A review of history with the appropriate data can verify this trend.

What does the science say?
Fuck science, guy has an opinion so he must be fired and blacklisted. Maybe killed if his harassment is bad enough to equal murder.

Hey cunts of all different kinds. If harassment equals violence why is there a different word?

I liked the one douche who said they'd mail his personal stuff to him.

I'd be taking it with me or it would be evidence in a criminal trial.

These psychos are out of their minds.

Fairness is science!

The left is so fucking intolerant. haha. exposed as the fucking shitheads we all knew they were. petulant fucking kids who resort to threats and violence when they get triggered.

On the other hand, this guy is probably some isolated aspergers genius or some asian/indian engineer with zero social skills who doesn't know how to play the fucking game.

The Brianna Wu mentioned in the article is a complete lunatic btw, she appeared on some Sci Fy show and lied about how some gamers forced her out of her home by pointing a rifle at it, lol.

Comments now that they've fired the guy?

I should probably actually read his memo sometime. I think saying willfully racist or sexist things makes you fair game to be fired, but my understanding from second-hand accounts was that this was merely controversial rather than flagrantly sexist. If it's the former, he shouldn't be fired. If it's the latter, I don't have a big issue with it.

I read it, other than women should be barefoot and pregnant it didn't seem off to me.

Its good he got fired.

This will open up a lot of backlash, exposure of manufactured search results, shadowbanning, and the deep state. Twitter is getting creamed for their SJW silencing crusade. Only a matter of time until they go shits creek bro.

It's all an M. Night plot twist... Twitter is a vast right wing operation and is false flagging as a bunch of leftists to red pill the people.

He's fired and rightly so.

What an employee does that reflects poorly on the company is grounds for termination. No question about it.

The fact that the mere suggestion that the gender wage gap might have more to do with biological factors than discrimination somehow reflects poorly on the company is in and of itself the problem.

Exactly.

There may be some merit to some bits of his manifesto, though. I didn't find it compelling.

The people in here defending this ass hat need to check themselves.
