Governor Kate Brown is finally going to shut Oregon down tomorrow.

Among the businesses to be closed, according to the draft order: amusement parks, hair salons, bowling alleys, furniture stores, boutiques, gyms, "indoor and outdoor malls," spas, museums, senior centers, ski resorts, social and private clubs, tattoo parlors and theaters. (Cannabis shops will not be closed.)

It authorizes the Oregon Health Authority to come up with other nonessential businesses that will need to close. It leaves restaurants, bars and cafes open, as long as they serve only takeout food.

People got to have their weed.

So it doesn’t affect restaurants? Most restaurants are very short staffed right now, only 2-5 people working at a time.

will be interesting to see the difference, it’s already been very weird with little to no traffic out there during busy commuting hours.

There's always outfits like Grub Hub that will deliver restaurant food to your door. I wonder if the delivery person wears gloves when he/she makes the exchange of food for money.

They can tip cash but payment is electronic. The vast majority of customers tip electronically as well. I’ll maybe get 1 cash tip per month, but haven’t gotten one for probably around 2 months now.

I don’t have any gloves, but I try to stay as smart about it as I can. Wash hands at restaurants often, use sweatshirt to open doors so that my hands don’t touch handles, wash hands after leaving restaurant and then again before delivering to door, wipe car and bag down with disinfecting wipes.

buy a box of surgical gloves. Great protection and disposable.
be safe my friend.

Good news people!!!!!!

This is much needed. This way, all of those people that work in an office can bring the virus home to their unemployed roomates or girlfriends. That way the unemployed can be broke and sick.

Obviously people that go hiking and don't stay 6 feet from someone need arrested but the cops don't want to touch them so that's lucky for any evil five footers.

It wouldn’t shutter offices, however, but it would require employers to let their workers telecommute as much as possible.

Violating any of Brown’s orders would be a misdemeanor crime, Willamette Week reports.
I think that's yet again a big mistake. It allows a lot of businesses to force their employees to work or possibly get fired.

I saw something on Twitter about a 7-11 on Beaverton-Hillsdale highway.

Apparently an employee was exposed and tested for Coronavirus and called his boss. They told him that if he didn't show up for work he was fired.

Fuck anyone who says shit like that right now. That should be attempted manslaughter.

Edit: He had just been tested a few hours earlier and hadn't received the results yet.

well, if liquor stores aren't considered essential businesses I'm kind of fucked. Almost out of vodka and scotch
Luckily, I'm well stcked. Was thinking about a trip to Ft. Lewis where I can get liquor with no Federal or state tax. Sadly Ft. Lewis doesn't carry some of my favorite expensive liquor. For the more expensive stuff I've been relying on trips to Canada or overseas and trips to Nevada. I don't get to go to any of those places anymore but not to worry. I was planning on downing the rest of my liquor should I get a terminal case of Covid19 coronavirus. Anyone want to join me? Of course, you'd have to sing dirge songs and toast profusely.

They don't even have to be surgical quality. My wife makes me wear these thin gloves that she buys in bulk They're almost like wearing saran wrap with fingers.
My wife, if it's even the slightest bit cold outside she makes me wear a hat and a winter coat even just to get back and forth to the car. Sometimes I call her 'mom'.

Are we shutting this state down or not?

I hope so. All of the imbeciles who went to the coast or out the gorge last weekend certainly didn't get the message that this is serious.

I know that this graph has been posted here before, but it's good to check it out again. Oregon doing what we've been doing ends up exceeding hospital capacity by mid-April and is Italy a month later, with an estimated 64,000 deaths. Three months of shelter in place keeps us well within capacity and around 2,000 deaths. Still awful, but drastically less awful than status quo.
