Grand Theft Auto IV

The graphics will look basically the same as the trailer.

It's a whole brand new city / world, its just under the Liberty City name again, just like how they remade the PS1 version on GTA on PS2, they're remaking the PS2 version on PS3.

Very much doubt it.

The graphics for the gameplay of Just Cause and Saints Row looked like that in the GTA trailer, so GTA4 should be the same.

Just saw the trailer and I cannot wait. Looks good even though I'm gonna have to begin to like the character a bit more. Glad they made it a present day game as well. I hope we find new character's as well. Not the same old Leone's, Tony Cipriani and Ken Rosenburg or Tommy Vercetti. Also, I think it'll look like the trailer or even better as well.

Just read that it has been confirmed that the footage on the trailer was run an an actual XBOX 360. Looks amazing but I dunno if it was in HD either.

Well again, if this new one is anything like the previous two I'll have to pass. I want something new and exciting to play since I don't have much time for games these days. I don't want to waste the little time I have playing something I'll end up feeling like I have already before.

I was reading some of the trailer was actual game footage running on an Xbox360.

As for the consoles, I believe it'll be released on PS3, PS2, and 360. I'm not positive, though.

Its only for next gen consoles, PS3 and XBox 360.

Hm, well I hope it gets released on PS2, because I sure as hell don't have enough money to get a 360 or PS3

110% sure It wont be on PS2.

PS2 & XBox simply couldnt handle the game.

Yep, only next Gen consoles.

Then after about 5 to 8 months it will hit the PC market and expand.

Seems like it might be the whole East Coast or country...

I mean, if San Andreas was three cities, GTA IV could very well be more. Especially with that Vice City sign in the trailer.

Yeah, I'm sure the map will be HUGE. I actually already have it pre-ordered at Game Stop. I wanna get a PS3 but later this year around June for my b-day. There is going to an extra episode for each console's online system.

When does it come out again?

Not sure if this has been mentioned.

Fall of this year, probably October...at least that's what I think. Don't quote me on that. As for the game on the PS2, it won't happen.

October 16. They usually come out in October form what I can remember, at least SA did. Yeah, don't count on a PS2 version. Get a job, set aside a good 400 for a Core 360 and GTA IV.

Some details have emerged about the game from this months Game Informer magazine:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The May issue of Game Informer has hit the mailboxes of subscribers today. Here is some info gathered from the magazine...<ul>
[*]The main character's name is Niko Bellic. Apparently he is either Croation or Serbian.
[*]Multiplayer is confirmed, but it's not like an MMO.
[*]You can use a cellphone to actually call contacts. It also has a phonebook, organizer, messages, and even a camera!
[*]There are no planes. Rockstar said they would be entirely useless in the game.
[*]The story will branch out in multiple ways depending on whom you choose to 'hang out' with.
[*]The game's time frame is around 2007.
[*]Police are more unforgiving than ever, their advanced AI is improved.
[*]The soundtrack is totally revamped focusing more on moods than just popular songs.
[*]You can call female friends for a date. (Hot Coffee in high-definition, hell yeah!)
[*]No more annoying loading times, even with the interiors of buildings.

No load times - Hella-friggin-lujah. GTA load times were a joke.

The non-linear storyline sounds promising. For a game as open-ended as GTA, I always thought it was kind of wierd they never put more choice in the missions. It'd be cool if it was kind of like GTA2, where you would do a mission for one gang and the other ones would get pissed off at you.

So I guess this would make a few different stories then? Maybe a different story for each group would be the case I guess. I'm real excited but the main character is kinda weak IMO.

Very nice, so it looks as though they want to take a step away from the older stuff. I'm hoping for a revamped GTA game this time so that it doesn't feel like the gameplay was taken out of the trash and given a polish.

Its on XBox 360 aswell, if you're on a tight budget.

Yeah, even if the 360 is cheaper, I've been with Playstation for ever, and really want a PS3. Plus I'm getting one soon, I hope.

I was just being silly, but I recently got a PS3. It's impressive.

Plus most games are going to be on both consoles I believe.
