usually right after a firing their team plays inspired B-Ball for a couple games. Trying to prove the can was justified. Hopefully, we still smash the living hell out of them.

Guess we will be facing an inspired Hornet team tomorrow.

Damn. Magnifier beat me by a minute.

Scott Out

Breaking NewsReport: Scott out
The New Orleans Hornets have fired head coach Byron Scott, according to the Times-Picayune newspaper's website.

Good News for Portland?

It happens every time. The GM fires the coach as a buffer to save their own bacon. The problem there is the players, not the coach.

How is their record a reflection of bad coaching? Their team is terrible outside of CP3/David West/Omeka.....Peja isn't productive anymore, Posey is old, no backups at any position...Who are they going to hire that is better than Byron?

So, the obvious thing to do here is to trade Travis Outlaw to NO for Chris Paul. Travis can be their player-coach, and take over Peja's starting spot. I think it works for both teams.

Sounds good!

Travis 1st day coaching: "Ok everybody, were going bass fishin!"

Chris Paul: "Coach we have a game tonight".

Travis: "That doesn't matter, that's how I prepare for every season. It should work great on a day to day basis.".

:ohno:

CP3 and Scott did have a pretty good relationship, iirc. I wonder how he feels about this.

Inept management/ownership fails to put together enough talent on the roster, coach he liked gets canned, losses piling up, etc, etc.

He's the current era's KG.

Hmmm, looks like it would take a huge chunk of casholla and cap space to get it done. Do we even have enough contracts to make that work?

CP3 + Peja for Oden/Miller/Blake/Outlaw/Webster. It works after Miller's trade restriction thing subsides.

haha..they're making the GM the coach and Tim "Pink" Floyd as the top assistant.

Just looked and CP3 only makes 13.5 mil this season? Wow, it really could be done if he's trying to force the issue. It could take pieces like this (contract-wise only). Bayless = 2.1 mil, Fernandez = 1.2 mil, Miller = 6.7 mil and Outlaw = 4 mil to get er done.

Yeah it's a ton of talent, but I doubt they would agree to anything less. Hell they may still laugh at us for offering it.

Yikes. The people I do not want to trade, from this team, are:

1a: Roy
1b: Oden

One or two of Miller/Blake/JB/Rudy, One of Webster/Outlaw, Any of Joel/LMA/Rooks/Picks.

But there is no point in trading for CP3 if you can not have Oden around - and the same, imho, for Roy.

I hate that my first dreadful thought was he'll end up with the Flakers. Shudder.

If they blow it up they want cap relief and young, cheap talent. They won't package him out without sending out an albatross contract.

Isn't Peja a Poison Pill contract? He has a fat contract, and is hurt most of the time. But if we had to take him to get Paul, I guess you do it. Although I wouldn't include Oden. The reasoning being, if Chris Paul can get Tyson Chandler to average about 10 points a game, how many would Greg average working with him? 25+?

Its their roster thats the problem, not the coach. Oh well, we'll still kick their ass tomorrow.

I think a team that could, and should be able to acquire Paul, and would be the worst, IMO, is OKC. Lots of really young talent that may or may not fit together. They have roughly 8 million in cap space right now as well.

Fernandez, Bayless, Outlaw and Miller for CP3? <--- Would you do this? Would it be enough or would we actually have to give up one of our big three to get CP3? Of course hypothetical, just wanted to feel out the opinions regarding CP3
