Isn't there a rule against hanging on the rim, or pulling yourself up with the rim, unless they are looking for a safe landing in traffic? Am I missing something, or does Greg get away with this surprisingly often? Maybe I missed a rule change?:dunno:

I love that he's getting to do it, for whatever the reason, because it seems to get Greg psyched.

You can definitely get T'd up by doing a pull up on the rim. Greg just kind of pulls his legs up and that must be OK. I think it's generally when you see the player pull his chin up over the rim.

Shaq used to do it all the time, too. I think the distinction is whether you actually pull yourself up (or hang) in a separate motion from the dunk itself. If it's all in one motion, they generally let it go.

Exactly what I was going to say.

If you bring your chin above the rim, you WILL get T'd up - Greg doesn't.

That must be right...I'd agree that Greg's dunk/hang is one motion.

Greg always used to slap the backboard with both hands at OSU after he did the leg thing on his dunks, I remember thinking if he does that in the NBA he's gonna get a lot of unintentional T's. Luckily he only does that every once and a while now and the refs seem to let it slide.

It's a giant conspiracy by David Stern to create a star out of Greg Oden! but in all honesty, every time I see it I halfway expect him to get T'd...

Remember when he did get T'd up for that in Boston last year? That was BS.

The refs could call it if they wanted. They let it slide, but I think some refs would call it.

It's a T only if you are playing the Lakers, Cavs, or Celtics.

Are you seriously complaining about Greg hanging on the rim?

This almost is the last straw for me lol this forum is getting ridiculous. I am so sick and tired of hearing\reading negativity about our Blazers. Next, someone will say Gregs shoes weren't tied tight enough.

dude....mellow out

Sick of hearing or reading negativity about our Blazers says the man who a week and a half ago had a large Fire Nate sig and avatar. Yep.

He would get T'd up vs. the Lakers in the playoffs. I guarantee a minimum of one tech for that exact same move in a game or series that mattered.

He would have gotten a T if that boot connected with Rose's face. That was close.

I dont think he was complaining.
I also wonder if he'll get a T when he does it. Glad he doesnt!

Aaah, no. Why don't you read the damn post before you rant?

And continued the Blazers' "talent" of knocking opposing point guards out of the game.

If it means anything, I like it when he hangs on the rim. I bet him last week he couldn't tear down a rim! Maybe he's just trying to!

I think it's cool, too. I just wish that rule wasn't out there. I would hope that if they do decide to enforce it at some point they mention it before the game rather than just arbitrarily dropping a T in the middle of some game against the Lakers...

he's just dunking with the vengencance. I would have thought he would have been T'd up...but its fucking crazy how hard he dunks.

I hope he rips the whole stanchion down while dunking on Bynum!

There was definitely a few times last night he could have been T'd... one on the pullup and another time he slapped the backboard. On the road those are probably both Ts.

It is great to see him getting into it regardless.
