Portland C Greg Oden will undergo an arthroscopic procedure later today in Vail, CO to remove debris from his right knee.

So....next update in 2 months? See you then, Greg!

Well... any news is good news, I suppose. Better than being completely in the dark.

Great news.

A simple procedure that could have been done months ago.....but then he might have had to play this season. :smiley-whatever:

unreal that this was not done weeks or even months ago, unless it was a recent occurrence, the nightmare continues

LOL, I can't keep track amymore, was the right knee the same one he is "most recently" rehabbing?

I had to look it up. Too many to remember.

No it's the other one. It's the one he had MF on in 07.

back for playoffs? oh yeah we arent making em this year.

We'll make the payoffs as the 7th or 8th seed, but have ZERO chance of advancing without HCA. We can't even beat SAC, DET or PHO on the road. How could we hope to beat a good team?

Unless we have our "once a generation center" back...

BNM

I thought we beat OKC on the road?

The arthroscopic technology is pretty amazing these days. If he was going to sit out the whole year anyway, this really is minor.

keep in mind just who we are talking about, perhaps the slowest healing athlete on the planet, a simple scope recovery is likely at least 3-6 months for greg!

Buchanan: Oden "could undergo a similar procedure on his left knee in the coming days. That's a possibility"

loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

he aint givin no shits about basketball, he's getting his drink on now!

This guy is done.....I wouldnt be shocked if he never plays another game in his career

I feel badly for Greg. The dude's body is just ... so ... broken.

LOL well I guess it's news. If it's minor surgery; then he can be back by the end of the season. Maybe the end of march.

As others have said, this is a pretty minor procedure and I hope that it helps Greg feel better soon. I'm certainly not counting on him for much, if any, contribution this season, but I'm just rooting for him to be able to get back on the court as soon as he can.

so no news for fuckin ages, then pow - news! and suprise suprise he's having more surgery...

i was gonna say "unbelievable....." but really, it's not - its tragically normal.

Oden may have blood cots in his ankles...wow. Feel bad for the kid.

"A league source has informed CSNNW.com said that Oden also has been experiencing discomfort in his ankles and further testing revealed he has blood clots."
