For those that live in Gresham and would like to have Verision cable rather than Comcast you'll soon be able to get Verizon.

The Gresham City Council cut a side deal with Verizon Communications Inc. on Tuesday, breaking from regional cable regulators to give Verizon permission to start offering cable television service on relaxed terms.

Verizon, which already offers TV service in Washington County and other parts of its phone territory in the metro area, wants to expand into Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview, Wood Village, and some unincorporated parts of east Multnomah County.

Damn, they need to come to SE Portland
yeah i tried recently to get fios and was really disapointed to find out it wasnt available in se. so i had to give in and get comcast. had dish for a long time and they were awful. i think the programing was better than comcast (minus blazers) but the customer service and equipement was the worst. i had directv for years before that and never had any problems whatsoever. i have a feeling though that now that i made the switch a deal will get done soon, haha!
