in the 1996 Finals, Nate was hurt and the Sonics fell behind 0-3. Then Nate came back and the Sonics blew out the Bulls twice in a row before eventually succumbing in a tough Game 6. If Nate had played the whole series, Sonics would've won easy.

Yeah, they would have beaten Jordan's bulls easy if they'd had their backup PG. Give me a break.

That's almost as bad as arguing that McMillan didn't screw up by not having a timeout left at the end of the game.

I disagree. The Warriors are a high scoring team and we held them to 48 points over the last three quarters. Nate coaches this team to play tough defensively and while we fell apart in the third, he had us rolling in the 4th, off to a 25-9 run over the first 8 minutes of the quarter.

Nice try Kingspeed. That wasn't a defensive stopping effort, but an effort to control the pace of the game. The Warriors are a simple ball control effort to contain their scoring. They cannot score unless they have a running game going. You slow it down, they are done. The Warriors are also one of the few teams in the league we actually can match up with right now. Most other teams are much bigger than us now. It will be a rare night for the rest of the season when we actually match up size wise with other teams. Try to not confuse defensive skill with controlling the pace of the game.

Holding a team to just 48 points over THREE QUARTERS (while scoring 74 points) is more than just controlling tempo. We got stops.

The wheels were coming off in the 4th with Bayless. Nate needed to recognize that we needed a vet at PG.

Nate decides in advance what he is going to do, and rarely, if ever, adjusts on the fly. :sigh:

It wasn't the sole factor tonight, but it contributed.

You sure can - Andre had 16 points and 10 rebounds through three quarters. Oh, and he can make FREE THROWS. Bayless had a terrible turnover and a missed free throw late.

Andre was our leading rebounder for the game!

Roy had the terrible turnover, actually. But lets blame Bayless a lot of people are now and days. He went from flavor of the week to the most hated fairly quickly.

Funny, I'm pretty sure #4 was the one who dribbled down the shot clock, then drove into the lane with nowhere to go before having to try tossing it somewhere (and choosing the people sitting on the baseline).

Sonics lost Game 3 in Seattle. But then they won two when Nate came back.

Your act has grown tired. I don't think even you believe the ridiculous crap you are posting these days.

For the record, Nate played in 4 games in that series. The Sonics were 2 - 2 in those games. In four games, Nate scored a grand total of 11 points, had 6 assists, pulled down 11boards, had 2 steal and 3 OTs. He was basically a non-factor in that series. The Sonics success was much more dependent on the play of Payton, Kemp, Schrempf, Hawkins and Perkins that anything McMillan did, or didn't do.

Why do you insist on starting these ridiculous tangents? Are you that starved for attention?

Last night's loss is still stinging. There's always a couple games a year that break your heart. Last year Hedo's bank shot vs Orlando, Blake's missed FT's vs. the Clips. This year, it's Oden's missed FT's and last night so far. Usually, I'm over it the next day and can't wait for the next game to take out that aggression - little different story with LA coming to town to play our little 7 man team.

These types of things theoretically even out. For instance, we had no business winning the Houston game last year when Roy hoisted in a 35' rainbow. So I'm hoping we steal a game on a lucky shot. Or, maybe we are the beneficiary of an "official aided" victory - we've been on the other end several times.

BTW - we need to take Memphis to the wood shed. The whole Darius Miles thing last year, and with Zach Randolph on that squad. Plus the beating they put on us at home a while back when they used a 31-2 second quarter run. We go down to their place March 1st. I hope our guys circle that date on the calendar. And next year, when we are back at full strength I hope we smash those guys by 40 at the RG. Play the starters the whole way and run up the score on those clowns.

Exactly. They won two on their home court. That tells us nothing about their likelihood of stealing the series in Chicago.
