What are your thoughts on groceries. We have Ralphs, Albertsons, and Vons (aka Safeway) as the majors. Whole Foods and Bristol Farms as the premiums. A bunch of mexican and asian supermarkets (but they're kind of far). Of course, Trader Joe is always an option. So is costcol

Me, I do 60% of my shopping at whole foods, the majority of the rest....Bristol Farms (its closeby) and Costco (usually the prepared refrigerated section only) and sometimes the upscale version of Vons (Pavillions).

I don't trust the major supermarket's quality control for some reason. I think Trader Joe's is garbage except for their drinks. Costco is good but too much of a bitch to get in and out of. Whole foods is the best, the proteins are expensive as are the veggies though. The whole paycheck moniker is a bit overrated IMO. The quality of the prepared foods is great. Milk, good...they seem to have more quality control.

I was at an asian grocery store today... "ranch 99". I just don't know how to cook most of that shit.

Well I'm a college student, so WinCo foods it is for me. Almost always has the cheapest prices

honestly whenever I go into Safeway there is like 5 people in the store shopping. The only other place I'll really go to besides WinCo is Albertsons or Costco

If you have them in your area (the SW and Rocky Mountain States), Sunflower Markets offer the best quality for the lowest price.

Haggen in Tualatin. Great produce and a lot of seafood options.

Down here in Irvine in California (The Chinese city of Orange County) we have two 99 Ranches about 4 streets away from each other. It's weird and the food can be intimidating to cook cause they really don't have specifications on how to cook it. However, I do go there for all my asian necessities. Other than that I shop at Albertsons cause it's less than 5 minutes away. So I shop for proximity :D

Costco is fun. I can make a meal out of those samples.....anyone else do that? :D
