Has anyone ever participated in a group interview for a job? I'm scheduled for one on Monday and I'm not sure what to think. Obviously you want to stand out but you don't want to dominate. Does anyone have any strategies or pointers on how to handle this?

Do you mean when you are interviewed by a group of people? Or do you mean you are one of a group of interviewee's?

Exposed cleavage FTW!

I'm a group of interviewee's. There were hundreds of applicants so they're just trying to weed out the ones they want to interview individually. I'm totally weirding myself out about it.

Okay so taking Treaty of Batum and your advice together I should just walk in the room in a black leather bikini... that way I will stand out in the group without the risk of saying something wrong.

Thank you both for the advice!

P.S. Anyone else out there with some GOOD advice?

One of my friends from HS was invited to a group interview once. That was for work at a strip club, though.

The few friends I've known that have been part of group interviews...... the group interview itself wasn't anything significant. The friends all felt like it was their way of weeding out ugly people, trash, crazies, etc, without the interviewing company going about that illegally. What kind of job are you applying for?

It's a Safety Consultant training program (other companies sometimes call it a Risk Management or Loss Control Consultant). I think I'd be good at it because I do consulting now and have great soft skills but I'm not an extremely outgoing person that will grab attention immediately. I do grow on people eventually (like a fungus) but it takes a little time.

Be nice. Wooks only mentioned exposed cleavage, because it worked for him during his job interview.

Moobs FTW!!

I think if you just be yourself you'll be fine. Assuming what you are is smart, nice, and not grotesquely deformed.

That's exactly what I think their purpose is. Smart move by them IMO.
