GT: Nets vs Heat

Not to take away from Lopez, but those stats were put up against an undersized Miami frontcourt.

He did his job exploiting them though.

Keep envying.

;-)

See what he did against Shaq, Kaman, J.O, B-Miller.

Nets only have themselves to blame for this loss. They had myriads of opportunities to put take the lead but executed poorly: Carter fumbling the ball out of bounds, Harris with that terrible pass to half court, etc. They were also getting out-hustled on the boards. There were crucial times when the Nets missed a rebound and the Heat capitalized off their folly.

Agreed...The Nets blew it, tons of turnovers, too many points in the paint,im not counting wade going off, we stunk inside with the exception of lopez. We had no one to help with the interior def. and the heat just got second chance after second chance. Yi? If he didnt have a string of like 3 straight turnovers i wouldnt have known he was playing tonight. Carter, played poorly. Frank, bad coaching, having your center try and trap one of the best gurads in the league down the stretch at half court trapping is NEVER a good idea. Small line-up failed in the last few minutes.

Harris, not a great game, but not the worst.
Anderson did alot of good little things, good perimeter def. He needs to hit his 3's
Brook, AWSOME, couldnt ask for more....Those fouls at the end not completely his fault, again, centers trapping at the 3 point line? really Frank?
Hassel, very good game, hit his shot...played good Def. even though the box score wouldnt show it. Contested everything, Wade was just...well Wade.

I'll say it again...We need a real powerforward. Doesnt have to be Amare, just has to be someone who plays tough Def., Rebounds, and can hit an Occasional shot. (Millsap esq.)

Care to back this up?

Wow, Brook Lopez Tim Duncan-like? He was impressive, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Next thing we know we might be talking about how Swat is Amare-like

Wow, great fisher to troll,

so Marbury is Starmatic ?

That's the all-time classic joke.

Great way to change the subject to make up for your lack of an argument.

Glad you like my signature though!

I missed parts of the 2nd and 3rd quarter when it seems the Heat were able to get a lead. But starting of 2nd quarter what is Frank thinking putting Boone on Beasley and in the 4th why is Hassell still guarding Wade? Try Dooling on Wade. We already know Wade can leave Hassell in his dust. Against Toronto he leaves Yi to guard Bosh. It's so irritating watching the bad match ups getting exploited and Frank not changing things. The Nets just looked lost several times this game. Didn't know when to help or when to switch.

Other than that Brook seemed to play well with the exception of that late foul.

And man was that TERRIBLE call bailing out Wade with the shot clock about to expire.

Wade steps on Brooks foot and falls down out of control. Foul on Nets. What a joke.

You have to expect those superstar calls. Yeah, it sucks but it's very much a part of the game.

Besides, if the Nets didn't allow that offensive rebound that would have never occurred.

Net's offense doesn't use a real PF. face the facts, Carter and Frank lost this one tonight.

Send you the same sentense !Great way to change the subject to make up for your lack of an argument.

I am talking about Lopez, you are talking about Sean Williams?

Go enjoy your Starmatic, fan boy.

Well maybe we should....If our PF isnt hitting outside shots, i'd rather have someone who will at least play good interior Def,Rebound, and not turn the ball over.

And where in my post did i say that Carter and Frank weren't parts of the problem tonight.

I didn't change the subject, I said don't get ahead of yourself. Lopez looks solid so far, but you are comparing him to Tim Duncan, arguably the greatest power forward of all-time. I brought up Sean Williams to emphasize how some were getting ahead of themselves last year by comparing Sean Williams to Amare.

There's no relevancy in bringing up my signature.

why is it everytime the nets lose Frank sucks? They are 13-13 coming off a very emotional win last night. They are on a 41-41 pace and to have this team full of rookies do that is amazing. Frank doesn't make the shots, set the picks, or throw the turnovers. Its a young team that plays its heart out almost every night.

Enjoy the ride! no team ever goes 82-0. You don't win em all, but this team is much more enjoyable to watch than last years team. We lost, but i enjoyed watching the game anyway.

oh yeah, go nets!!!

What are you talking about? There was no offensive rebound before that call on the Miami possession. They only got an offensive rebound when Wade missed his 2nd free throw attempt on that crap foul call and he got to the line again. If it wasn't for that bail out call those free throws and offensive rebound would have never occurred.

He is tim-duncan like in his stature, skills, and the way he is playing with composure.

And that's my opinion, and some people's opinions, period.

He can be a 20-10-and 2 blocks type player in his prime, and he is only 20 years old.

Sean is Sean, Brook is Brook, so how the hell Sean is a failure, so Lopez would be another one?

Sucking Logic, go learn Logic, please.

I'll give credit where it's due....And Frank has done a great job considering what this team was before the season started and our holes at certain possitions. My problem with him tonight was bad judgement calls specificlly in the last few minutes...That scheme he was using on De. just didn't work at all in my opinion.

Nets lost this game because VC blew too many defensive assignments. Wade is Wade. There isn't much teams can do to slow down a guy that fast with that type of strength. But what the Nets shouldn't have allowed to happen was to let guys like Cook and Chalmers burn them from the outside, and VC drew those assignments throughout the majority of the game.

I knew it was going happen.

At the end we didn't play any power forwards, It was small ball. I would have been ok with Najera or Boone. Frank pulled the same garbage he tried vs the Knicks. What PF would want to play on your team when they get benched for no good reason. The game was close till the end. Frank pulled out some trick defensive plays and failed.

You're right, I mixed up the foul calls. After the offensive rebound he got a blocking foul. It still doesn't change the fact it was a crucial rebound they missed.

But like I said, those superstar calls are to be expected. It will be one thing if the Nets played their best and Wade just won it. But the Nets handed this one over with silly, low basketball IQ mistakes and being out-hustled.

If we get a homeless man's version of Tim Duncan, I'd be happy.

Miami is Wade. Stop wade stop miami. Miami already has a small front line, so small ball isn't such a bad idea. Its always so easy to play armchair quarterback. He has to make snap decisions during the game. The nets were losing most of the game going large, the game got tied and even one or two lead changes when they went small. It was a good game and more experience for the youngsters. Can't win em all...

No, you play a team on YOUR strength, not the opponents. Our defense suck, our main weapons are Harris and Carter. You try to sacrifice our offense for defense to match up. We're not playing our game and we'll lose every time. We have a young team and we can't deal with all these last second changes. Our defensive rotations suck. You do what works during crunch time, this is what good teams do. Frank is great off timeouts for a offensive score, but his defensive adjustments during the entire season sucks.

Sometimes Frank is just too slow to call a timeout when we are hitting a wall and can't stop the opponents.

The Nets made their share of bad plays and it made their margin of error late in the game smaller. But then to play decent defense in a one point game and about to cause a shot clock violation only to get called for a foul when it was just Wade driving out of control was costly.

and sometimes the young players and superstars don't get it done, but of course thats franks fault.

True, but if Wade falls to the floor, chances are he's getting the benefit of the doubt, especially if a rookie is involved. That's just the way the cookie crumbles, so to speak.

But from the turnovers, the several missed 3s, to the missed offensive boards, the Nets fate belonged mostly in their hands.

Or the refs could just say they're not going to bail out Wade on an out of control drive with the shot clock about to expire. With refs making calls like that they are taking the Nets fate out of their hands.

Why should I even bother?

Tim Duncan, a two-time MVP, is quite a lofty expectation for Brook Lopez, a rookie averaging currently averaging 10/7.

Sean Williams, a "failure" by your own admission, was compared to Amare last year and doesn't seem like he will meet his lofty expectations.

Hopefully Brook, just like Sean, does not fail to meet those lofty expectations you have for him.

The game was not determined by that one possession. Not even close.

The Nets owned their fate tonight.
