I don't understand all of it but what I heard this will make it easier, cheaper and faster to great drugs for the treatment of disease.

I think a lot of "inventions" and discoveries are finding the purpose in knowledge. And usually they don't know how to get there. Sometimes science studies things without an immediate purpose.
