OT Gun Control? How about Ammo Control?

I agree. Have fun ruining our country ass bags. Im just gonna go back to watching it burn.

Geez, you're sour. Lighten up. I certainly have no desire to ruin the country I risked my life for and now spend half my waking time in the hospital as a result. You can say I unintentionally am hurting the country but there's no way in hell anyone in here or anywhere else can say I'm intentionally ruining the country which you imply by using the term ass bags. It's so ironic that you should say that.

Wrong again. I was in the Army where I was in combat.

I've owned guns since 1959. I own two right now, one of which uses ammo I load (Sierra boat tails and Dupont powder). Sako 270, with a Leopold 3X9 scope. The other is a shotgun.

I'd like you to know that I think you are the King of insulters!

Serve in combat and then get back to me.
But you dont know what a clip is?

No, it's a useful suggestion because it affects dangerous people very very unlike you and me and not you and me.

I'll bet that like me you are a one shot one kill guy. Why do these guys want magazines that hold over 20 rounds? Okay, some like to target shoot but it's a small price to pay to save several typically defenseless lives.

Hunting? Target shooting? :beatinto:

Please, please, pick up a book about the beginning of the Revolutionary War, read a bit of history about the debates that led up to the ratification of The Second Amendment and the many versions that were debated.

Read some history on ANY major war, and the "gun control" that led up to the accumulated murders of over 300 million people over the last century.

Sly won't let me say why you should.

Because those are heavy books and he can use one to club some sense into you?

Bro but magazine restrictions will stop murder. Just like when we made murder illegal.

You don't even know why you were given a gun to go to war, do you? :dunno:

Someone should make an app that turns a smartphone into a gun.

Damn right im sour. I dont want a government take over. I want them to have to work for it at least.

Good post. Makes me wonder about the morons who promote sanctuary cities and actively warn illegal immigrants when ICE intends to do their job.

Are they intentionally hurting their country?

I don't mean to equate you with those morons, I believe YOU that you don't mean to hurt this country.

I may have to reconsider how I feel about those people.

I read a biography of Alexander Hamilton that Hobbes gave me. In it the author described what a well regulated militia meant. It was meant to control slaves which were, of course, freed by first a Presidential decree and later by Constitutional amendment. Poof, the original intent of that part of the Second Amendment should have gone poof.

How many mass shootings do we have to endure every year, 'cause currently we are at a record breaking pace.

By the way, I have a 20 ft. lighted flag pole in my front yard from which I fly the flags of my deceased father, brother and step father. All my dad's brothers were in the Army, one at both Anzio and Korea in the paratroopers. Both of my mother's brothers served in the paratroopers at Normandy. My Aunt's husband survived the Bataan Death March. I'm sorry, I had to get that off my chest since someone else impugned my patriotism.

Fixed your post for you.

But you dont know what a clip is?

Do you know the difference?

Just looked it up. Clips feed magazines. Never used a clip.

We used to call the magazine that fed the 22 rifles that my cousin and I had, a clip. I never thought about it all these years until now. The Army always said magazine but I never gave a thought to anything else.

Anyhow, I was an expert on the M16. Once I got overseas the idiots gave me an M14 which is what the Marines used. That was 1968. A bit heavy to lug around. Still, better to have the rifle than to be detailed to the M60. I detailed to that during heavy combat. Didn't even know how to load it but figured it out on the first try. It's self evident.

The basic laws, mostly made before we were born, work fine.

90% of the laws made over the last 50 years were written specifically to enslave, disarm, and disenfranchise.

Most of them need to be repealed.

Yes I prefer a weapon that a single shot will usually do for many uses. The 270 Winchester Model 70 and the 308 Savage lever action are couple of my favorites along with a sweet little Browning knock off of the old model 92 winchester. Execpt it shoot the .357 rounds instead of 32-20. But that is not good enough for all uses.

1. When I was running my ranch in NE Oregon, I took it on to encourage geese to nest there. The first year I had one pair that did indeed raise a batch of goslings.
I raise the capacity of the pond to about 5 feet deeper and that resulted in a bit more area, moving the edge right over close to a grain field on either side of the pond.
The Cattails had to readjust to the new, but they did quickly.

Well anyway those Geese and their young returned the next spring and they all setup camp. I had 5 nesting pair that summer. They had grain right there and were doing well. I kept a close eye on them as the Coyotes were too. Then the friggin Coyotes got one young one. Dammit! The next evening I set up watch over the Grain field from a hill side about 300 yards off. Sure enough, the pack of Coyotes game sneaking in from the far side maybe 550 yards off, working their way very stealthy toward the feeding young. The Ganders were on Duty but they could not see the Pack sneaking through the Wheat.

The geese were maybe 275 yards from me, so I let the coyotes come to just over 300 as I judged it. Then I opened up, rapid fire with a 30 round clip in the Ranch gun. Dropped Two of the seven before they knew what the fuck was up, then they turned tail. On their way out, I dropped one more. I did not see the coyotes in the area again that year. Not sure how many geese I had practicing flight training that fall but it was sort of cool to watch then get ready to migrate. I was damned pleased.

Yes, a whole bunch returned and we did the same drill on the next batch of Coyotes next season and the next. We lived there seven years before we then moved to Bandon. Probably had over 200 pairs of nesting geese calling that ranch home. I don't think I could have done it without that Mini14 Ranch gun. It works about like an AR-15, might not be quite as bad looking, but still...

Now I could tell you another story of why you need some serious fire power on a boat too. But I will leave that story for another day. I will just say the threat of being well armed is usually enough to win the day. It will be the shits when the bad guys know we legally cannot be.

Why not just arm the geese? Seems hypocritical to restrict their access to firearms.

My guess would be to shoot people.

More accurately, specifically to kill enemies of the USA. Not to hunt. Not to shoot targets. Not to stop home invaders.

The Second Amendment was enacted so all Americans had the means to kill those who threaten the security of our country, whether it be foreign or domestic forces (like the British).

90% of the laws made over the last 50 years were written specifically to enslave, disarm, and disenfranchise.

I assume you can back that statistic up with some data?

You do know Madison authored the 2nd amendment. I posted his intent her in this forum. It seems you ignored it. As you did the work to get to the original intent by the Court in DC vs Heller.

You aren't supposed to threaten the President. It's a crime.
