I've got a hernia. Doc was gonna fix it when he performed the operation to install a peritoneal dialysis port. My wife nixed the idea because that type of dialysis is very labor intensive and she said she wasn't up to it with all her other duties. So, now I go to the hospital three days a week for hemo dialysis. Now, there's a drag.Get better dude! I've never had a hernia. Hope I never do.
After the 2 week recovery will you have restrictions on excercise, food or drinks?I voted.
I am at home till the surgery. Have to walk around with a bravo monitor the next couple of days to measure my acid levels.
Surgery will be in a month or so hopefully.
It'll be 2 days in the hospital. 2 weeks recovery. I'll survive.
I voted yesterday. Hopefully, that will please Sly.I voted.

Who’s going to lift your heavy load here? Can’t be @SlyPokerDog as he is already full of a heavy load of something. Not food or drinks. I'll be careful with exercising and lifting heavy things for about 6 weeks after that so I can heal and not re herniate

Hey @HCP I think the herniated brain question could best be not answered by you.The load here is all mental. No problem lifting that. Well, I guess it does technically get verbially physical here in the OT. Is there such thing as a herniated brain? No matter. No restrictions there. Hell, I'll probably be on the forum the night of the surgery from my hospital bed telling people to get their shit together. I'm Clint Eastwood like that.
When it in for some pre op procedures. Had an Esophagael Manometry, upper endoscopy, and a Bravo Study. The secondy endoscopy since they found my hiatal hernia. 6mm.
First sans seditaves they had me basically snort novocaine. Put a tube down my nose into my chest. Not fun.
Then had the endoscopy during which they checked my hernia. It got bigger. They implanted a chip at the base of my esophagus. Found esophagatis. Also found lesions in my stomach and throat they had missed previously. Have to wait 1-2 weeks for results. Then schedule surgery.
Lots of fun.
Oh man, that sucks. I'm so sorry you're going through this.
That hospital sucks. My mom had an operation there and they botched it and blew her intestine up with compressed air. Had to remove a section of her colon.CC..Ive too have HH and before I was diagnosed with it I seriously though I was having a heart attack while in Cannon Beach, had to have the wife take me to seaside hospital.
Gave me tanager? and it really helped.
Wow sorry tha happened to your mom. Hospitals are risky at times. That hospital sucks. My mom had an operation there and they botched it and blew her intestine up with compressed air. Had to remove a section of her colon.
The only good thing is it's location is uphill and would escape any tsunami. It's also close to my American Legion Post, post 99.
Update:
My esophogeal manometry showed I have hypotensive lower esophogeal sphincter.
The biopsy revealed that the lesions are not due to my acid reflux.
The bravo study revealed excessive acid exposure from reflux
Have to make an appt. to talk to the surgeon now and schedule surgery.
Damn dude. I have acid reflux. Have you raise the head of your bed an inch. That really helped mine.

Who can argue with that? Oh, him? He really doesn't count. That helps. Changing my diet, increasing my fiber intake and increasing my exercise routine also helped.

I'm not really sure what all of that means. lol
I'm guessing that Prilosec doesn't work for you?
I got the novacaine from a spray bottle, straight shot down the throat, followed by some crazy gas mask sedative that knocks your dick into the dirt in about 2.5 seconds.Glad to hear. Your heart doing well? You don't want to man. Fucking bitter as shit
Why would you need a stiff dick in the gatroenterologist's office? Ah, I get it now, sexy nurse, eh?I got the novacaine from a spray bottle, straight shot down the throat, followed by some crazy gas mask sedative that knocks your dick into the dirt in about 2.5 seconds.
I had an endoscopy to remove a piece of steak from my esophagus. Lol. So dumb. Sore throat for days.
Get well soon brosef.
