HCP,

I have been stuffing myself and the pounds still melt away.

For dinner last night, I had an 18 oz steak, a can of black soybeans, and a huge salad. That's a LOT of food. And it tastes great because it has fat (flavor).

Time to get a few new pairs of shorts. For the third time now, I've lost enough weight and inches that my clothes fall off me if I don't wear a belt. I needed a new belt, too, because my old one didn't have enough holes to tighten it sufficiently.

I'm about 5 lbs from my target weight, but I could (likely will) keep on going and lose another 10-20 lbs. after 20 more, I'd still be 15 lbs heavier than I was at age 30.

A good read:

That's awesome! I love that feeling of clothes that used to be too tight now being too loose. I've dropped 10 inches off the waist so far. I'm twopounds away from my next goal of 75lbs lost, trying hard to make it soon. I actually just got back from a 25 mile bike ride at 12.22 mph, with for me is fast.

The graph doesn't do it justice.

Made my middle goal of 75lbs dropped. Last thanksgiving I weighed 310, now I weigh 235lbs. Next goal is 100lbs lost, hopefully ill hit it by my birthday on may31st.

Nice job!

Are you gonna have that surgery to tighten up loose skin?

Most likely, I'm getting this big bell bag of skin, hopefully it tightens up, sometimes it does over a couple years, but most likely I'll have to get surgery.

I've lied to my doctor and told her I am getting rashes from the skin so that I can hopefully create a medical reason to get it removed and have insurance pay. Otherwise, it will be the price of a car.

Damn! Insurance doesn't cover that?

Another 1.4 lbs down since yesterday.

We went to Outback for dinner last night. I had a 9oz sirloin with grilled shrimp, sautéed vegetables, and a Caesar salad (no croutons).

I'm starting to wonder if I can stop losing weight easily and go into maintenance mode. By my calculations, I might need to eat 4000 calories. It's rough!

I'm up to 190lbs at 5'9". 200lb is my goal then lean out 10lbs.

Doing some beercan chicken tonight on the traeger after the Zags game. With a side of asparagus. Ohhhh how I love asparagus!

I saw my doctor yesterday to compare my lipid panel results from a year ago (pre keto diet) and from this year. The tests were taken 50 weeks apart, or almost a year to the day.

My overall cholesterol level was unchanged. Any concerns about eating so much fat raising my cholesterol level put to rest.

My HDL (good cholesterol) level was high at 57 (>39 is ideal).

My VLDL level dropped from 26 to 21.

The only surprise was my Triglycerides went up from 106 to 131. She said the number is in the sweet spot and that it can vary a lot from day to day even. It is a surprise because it is expected to go down due to eating less carbs.

Otherwise she told me my risk for heart disease and stroke are minimal and the results are good.

Update

Still working on my health. I gave blood tuesday and they checked resting heart rate and blood pressure. 50 beats per minute and 96 over 64. Life is just getting more enjoyable as I lose. I'm now down 82 pounds and yesterday biked 45 miles with ease.

I'm getting close, only 18 pounds away from triple digit losses. Next month I go for a full checkup and health work up with doctor and dietician and am looking forward to seeing how the blood work looks.

I'm cutting it close to reach my goal by my birthday, 100lbs by May 31st (b-day). Today it's May 9th and I've lost 92lbs so far, leaving me another 8 pounds to lose in three weeks. Not impossible, but getting more difficult, especially with having to move to another town and get all sorts of crap taken care of that's more important than weight loss. But I'm going to try and do it. Last thanksgiving I weighed 310, this morning I weighed 218lbs. Even if I don't make my goal on time, I'm pretty pleased. I'll make it soon enough.

Down to 313 from 467. Tried slowing the weight loss during the winter to see if my skin would shrink a bit. NOPE...gonna need surgery when I hit 250 or so. Oh well, keep getting sores and rashes myself.:smiley-wink:

Holy crap that's awesome! I didn't know you were also dropping. That's fantastic, and you've lost over 150 so far, that's as big as HCP's ego (kidding John).

I'm not sure yet if excess skin will be a problem for me or not. Right now it's looking like I'll have a bit excess if I get down to 180, but it might not be bad enough to need surgery.

How are you feeling having dropped so much?

It's crazy. I spent most of my 30s at 400 or more. Almost all at 350 plus. Yuk, being young and fat is like having a car that is fast but gets bad gas mileage. Being old and fat is like a Prius that gets 4 mpg.

Will soon turn 41, feel better than I have since 26. Had a little problem with prostatitis that kept me off of my bike for most of the last few months. Took doxycycline hyclate I believe it was and my joints hurt so bad I could barely work.

I work on flag hour or commission so I make way more now being able to work faster without getting tired.

Last weekend at Winco there were 2 500lb or more men on scooters. Just after the first so there were more welfare types there. One guy had to be 55 or older and he was huge. The other guy was probably 24 and there with his mom. They just bought junk and junk and junk. I don't remember seeing anyone buy more than one loaf of french bread before in my life. It is only good fresh. The young kid had 4 in his scooter basket.

I have no right to say anything to him having been almost 500 a couple of years ago but I wanted to help him sooooooooooooooooooooooo badly. It just makes me sad.

Mozel tov! My story is not quite so dramatic - 38 down, 13 to go.

My jeans keep falling off my ass. In fact I don't really have an ass any more.

And that's why you need to frequent this forum. There are plenty of asses around here.
