One thing we learned is that one of the holdups on LMA's contract is that there is never been one done like this before. The Blazers and LMA are talking about paying LMA a % of the available cap space next year vs a $ amount.

The Players Association doesn't like this at all. Both sides agree that LMA is not a max contract player but the Players Association doesn't like this % crap, they want hard numbers.

The real Brian Wheeler knows that there is someone who posts as BrianWheeler in this forum. Says he reads this forum all the time.

BTW where the hell was BrianWheeler? I thought he was coming down here with his wife. Didn't he post in the OT forum asking for ideas of places to visit in Portland today?

he didn't even mention your name. We were just talking about the forums in general, and he said he reads some. He knew "John" though and said he was a good guy. He actually bought a round for everyone!

ah ok thanks. But real Wheels.. if you read this, and want me to change the name I will. The guy is a class act, and I would hope to never do him wrong!

This is pretty fantastic news in my eyes. They've agreed on a percentage but can't figure out what the cap will be means to me they're close enough that it will get done, and there shouldn't be any hard feelings about the time it's taking. I wonder if they could write it with hard numbers (for worst case cap) with kickers the occur based on the actual cap? Maybe that would allow them to get around the associations complaints? I know they can put in incentives based on your play.. I just don't know if they can do incentives based on other things.
