From Reddit: "Due to some neighbors flying BLM flags, Thin blue line flags, and other opinion flags, our HOA decided last month that we’re only allowed to fly the USA flag, and nothing else. They day after the decision, we receive an email that someone reported our Pride flag (that we had in our house since 2016), and that we needed to take it down. We complied and removed the flag. Looking through our new rules, we noticed that removable lights are permitted without restriction so... we bought 6 colored flood lights, and we washed our house in pride colors. A little less subtle than our simple flag. A lot more fun for anyone complaining about the flag itself and what it represents. If you’re interested, here’s the house now."

Nice!

Happy pride.

Florida celebrated by signing anti trans law.

I'm wanting to see an olympics whereas males who converted to females compete against females who converted to males. Wouldn't that be fun?!! :)

The little library outside shows pride year round!

I'm waiting to meet a bible thumper who isn't a big hypocrite! I think we'll both be waiting a while.

I think it would be much more fair to level that specific playing field. What crandc had alluded to involved sports.

Kind of a funny story…..when we moved into our current house 24 years ago, I put a telescoping flag pole in the front yard. We went to Elmer’s to buy an assortment of flags to rotate through. One of the flags we picked (because it was so colorful) was a rainbow flag. At the time it was just starting to become an LGBT symbol…..and my wife and I were utterly unaware of the significance. So we went home and let it fly……about an hour before the school bus rolled up with BG and his brother. They were FURIOUS and took a fair amount of ribbing from the other kids. Fortunately, our gay neighbors happily took the flag off our hands…….after they recovered from laughing their asses off over our ignorance. But since then I have always wondered, are people with Hawaii license plates on their cars automatically labeled gay…..?

My 14-year-old great-nephew is celebrating big time. He SO much wants to be a girl! Proudly wears mini-skirts to schools, and can't wait until he turns 18 so he can have his penis cut off! He's the only boy of 5 kids. The family surname will end here. Happy Happy.

I'm waiting for you to learn something about transgender people before you shoot your mouth off.

Not holding my breath.

Not holding my breath.

I'm sure you're the authority.

And this has to do with Pride month how?

I was simply responding to crandc's snaps at me.

From the article:

Fonte’s lessons for first-graders also include subjects such as gender assigned at birth, gender identity and gender expression.

“Kids have no less than five classes on gender identity — this is pure indoctrination,” a Dalton mother said. “This person should absolutely not be teaching children. Ironically, she teaches kids about ‘consent’ yet she has never gotten consent from parents about the sexually explicit, and age-inappropriate material about transgender to first-graders.”

No. But I as m quite certain I know more about the subject than you.

So, then, inform me on how the family should graciously, and in love, respond to my 14-year-old great-nephew.

Ummmm... maybe start with the correct nouns and pronouns? Maybe encourage her to find people to talk with who will support and help her with the decision she's made. Trans kids are subjected to bullying by peers and ridicule by adults. The rates of suicide and attempted suicide by transgendered kids is shockingly high. It really doesn't seem like you'll be someone your niece can talk with but hopefully you won't be a hindrance in them finding someone.

WHO not THAT. Learn your pronouns.

You'd be surprised. But, hey, thanks for the great info.

Give them a hug, tell them that you love them and then encourage them to live the life that makes them happy, so long as it doesn’t impinge on the rights of others. I’d ask you, “how hard is that?”, but I’m well aware that you are a Republican, so doing the “Christian” thing and respecting the rights of others is probably a struggle for you…….

I am a cis woman but trans people are part of my overall community. I have friends, colleagues, family members who are trans men and women and non binary. As a cis woman I can't claim to be an expert but I do know more about it than a transphobic Trumper.

Him, that's the correct pronoun.

Proper usage of English has not changed.

Biological Science has not changed.

The medical impossibility of transforming a biological male into a biological female by disfiguring surgical and drug procedures has not changed.

A loving friend or family would help the confused, clinically-depressed boy to understand the emotional confusion of puberty is a natural and short-lived period that most people survive, unless they are manipulated by self-serving people with ulterior motives.

To equate transgenderism with gayness is absurd. No connection or similarities between the two.

I am a cis woman.

Forgive me, but, in this day and age, I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the new acronyms and definitions. Yeesh, where's a thesaurus when you need one?!
