But the pick cant be had if we continue the experience into the playoffs. How is it a stretch to compare the two? You dont make sense. They are in direct correlation. Don't make the playoffs and get a pick to help the team.
Be a surprise success and make the playoffs and lose the pick but gain the experience in the playoffs.
Its pretty black and white no matter how many shades of gray your trying to paint.
But if we don't make the play-offs we still lose the pick next season. The asset is *gone*, whether we make the play-offs this year or not. It was gone before the season started. It's a sunk cost.

Earlier this season, I felt Whiteside's mental maturity/attitude was bad but it seems as though a talk w/ Shaqass & a good retired center (I forget who it was right now) "got his mind right;" I think I'm now ready to welcome him if we go after him/get him
I want Gasol here but don't want to pay crazy $ for him; I agree w/ what you've said ^ & also, I love the idea of what Gasol could teach Vonleh & all our other 4s & 5s!
