I love how Repubs say they "also hated" George Bush to look unbiased.

Yeah, I reallllly believe that.

You REALLY disliked him before he ever stepped foot in office.

Am I not allowed to have an opinion of someone who had a very specific reputation at the Law School, who was my state senator and whose political viewpoints were well known in the Hyde Park community?

Yeah, I reallllly believe that.

I'm a small government, fiscally conservative, social libertarian. Exactly where does President Bush fit within those guidelines? Compassionate conservativism is nothing more than an excuse to have big government and impose evangelical social views. I didn't vote for him in either 2000 or 2004.

That's just a dumb post.

A lot of Repubs voted for Gore over Bush.

I'm registered indy, by the way. I consider myself more Democratic than Repub, until it comes to lazy people wanting handouts.

As an *wink wink* "independent" you're an oddity if true.

Prove it.

I figured most of my posts on the OT thread would have said enough.

I might just be an oddity. I like the way maxiep described his beliefs, above. I personally think the two-party (dominated) system is lame and outdated and I hate that people vote mostly party lines as opposed to voting based on beliefs and/or what's best for our fellow neighbors.

I agree with that.

Maybe if the system wasn't this way it'd eliminate the psycho Christian fundamentalism that is taking over the right wing.

Agreed.

I grew up in a (loose) Catholic household. To this day, I (loosely) follow my faith, though I'm not confined by some of the rigid-ness of it, and there are many things I disagree with and/or don't practice. I disagree with pretty much anything we have to strictly follow in most anything in life. I think we should question "why?" In everything. If we can do that, consider both sides, and determine our own beliefs and values, I think we'd all be better off.

You posted a million words in BBB OT threads arguing against Democrats and for Bush.

Yeah. Right.

There are three threads with Obama's name in the title on the front page out of the 25 listed. If you don't have the self-control to skip those threads, that's a you problem, not a we problem. Exaggerating doesn't exactly help your cause in this instance.

Didn't say it was a problem, im just wondering if the Off-Topic section might actually be embracing a general topic.
I'll discuss politics all day. The man in the White House gives us plenty to talk about.

All i see are "Obama dun did it 'gain" and other political babbling. (Not to say that there aren't billions of other topics that we babble about).

HA. This is nothing. Come back during election season. Now that the mods are banning, errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. suspending people left and right there may be nobody left but Wookie.

I should know better than to even pretend to take you seriously, but disliking a president doesn't mean I dislike everything they do.

maxiep, you're responding to someone so staunchly in their beliefs that they are blinded. Gotta follow party lines. Baaaaa. I find a lot of irony and humor in a "Democrat" that is so close-minded and one-sided in their views. It's like a true Republican saying he could give a flying f*** about money.
