MORE OF AN AL GREEN MAN MYSELF

I played that song every night for years with a cover band....my favorite Al Green tune ..love the part in the intro where he stomps on the orange crate....Simply Beautiful is another of his I really love..good pick...In between the sheets picked for the title....For the love of you is the better Isley Bro tune

People who like Chinese Opera must hate music and love cat fights

Yeah, that was one of my college "get down" CDs. That and Erykah Badu's Baduizms

To me, watching someone play an instrument would be like watching someone paint a painting, or having someone watch me write a sentence - pretty boring!

In my 20s I joined some guys in a jam session one night and grabbed the maracas but they kicked me out after five minutes because I threw off the beat - ha!

I haven't read any further, but I had to stop here and ask a couple questions.

First, How many concerts have you actually attended?
I am a musician and have also performed close to a 100 times live and I love going to concerts and watching music performed live, but there is a hitch.

I do get bored quickly if the band is simply replicating the recordings on their albums. Often it isn't as good with performance flaws and Id rather just toss the headphones on and listen to the music recorded in a better quality at home.

However. There are bands out there that will routinely change/tweak, or completely alter their hit songs and then there are some bands who will take this to the point that each live performance is different, unique and never to be witnessed again.

This to me is the climax. The apex. You cant get anything better out of music, than witnessing a new sound being created on the spot live.

I go to concerts in search of this and will never stop because it is one of life's great natural highs in my opinion. To be part of something completely unique that will never be heard or witnessed again.

So we were getting ready to play a show and ran into this guy on the street. He was hilarious...
