He Got Game 2: Electric Boogaloo (working title) is a needless sequel looking for a script if any of you out there can come up with one. Ray Allen was quoted as saying he's been talking to Spike Lee for months and he's hoping Lee can cook up a good enough story to get the band back together.

Lee's in need of a hit after three straight flops at the box office (Miracle at St. Anna, Red Hook Summer, and Oldboy). 2006 was the last time he had a film that wasn't panned (Inside Man) and also the last time he worked with Denzel Washington, IIRC. A sticking point might be that the original didn't make any money, either.

OH, maybe Denzel and Ray are in prison together and are BOTH let out to convince the boy to go to the state school.
