I think it will be big. I think most fans aren't following things that closely, and his past isn't that well known, but as soon as he's hired the local media will shit all over it. Portland is the woke capital. There's no way there isn't backlash.
I've seen you say this a couple times now. Aside from taking an opportunity to let your conservatism shine through while dumping on Portland, I'm just not sure there's much there to shit all over (or even near)?
Beyond decades-old allegations and settlements, we know absolutely nothing about what did or didn't happen. We DO know that Billups has a squeaky clean record since then and comes extremely highly recommended. I'm sure his history will be mentioned by the media, and sure, some folks will raise an eye, and maybe they lose a handful of fans, but if we're being honest, they probably lost a couple for firing Stotts too.
Maybe you're making some incorrect assumptions about being "woke" (that we instantly take the most liberal stance on any headline, regardless of context) or really assuming the worst of the media (that they'll lead the story with his history, instead of the fact that he's the Blazers' new head coach -- which is frankly, just absurd) but I think "it will be big" is a drastic overreaction.
