i think dame would be happy with becky as well.I really want Hammon as our next coach, but I think it’ll be Vanterpool because Neil will appease Dame

I’ve noticed on multiple occasions that you seem to seek out some of the women who are currently coaching in the NBA. Why is that?
Damian Lillard: “Just because I come from a family of a lot of women, a lot of hard working women that are the leaders of my family, so I’ve always know women to be strong people. As strong as they are, they’re people that need love and support from men. They deserve to feel good about themselves for being so strong all the time. When I see women working around the NBA — Sue Bird, Becky Hammon, Jenny Boucek, names like that — and they’re working in a men’s league, that’s bold to branch out into something like that.
“A lot of times, it’s just them. They’re the lone woman on whatever staff or whatever team they with and they deserve to be acknowledge. To be out there, all of us guys running around, I feel like they deserve to be acknowledged and congratulated and shown love for breaking into the men’s game, fitting in in a league of men where people years ago probably thought it was no place for women. Probably didn’t think they were capable of doing the job as far as leading men and working with men. I’m just proud of the growth of the league to have it be more of a common thing, and also for them stepping up and doing it wholeheartedly, stepping into it like they belong doing it. It’s pretty cool.”
7 yrs as an assistant in the NBA next to the most successful NBA headcoach, one championship, three conference finals runs, 15 seasons in the WNBA isn't enough experience for you?Is it misogynistic to ask what head coaching experience she has had, or ask how a player known for her prolific offense would help the Blazers become a good defensive team? If you take her standing within six feed of Pops, what other qualifications does she have? Given there are solid defensive players that also were assistants to Pops, wouldn't they be better choices?
Nothing against Hammon, but other than the fact that it would be a major virtue signal in a town known for it, I don't see how she could possibly be the best choice--and it has nothing to do with her gender. If you want a female coach that badly then pick up a successful one from the college ranks.
And unless you have a Ph.D. in biotechnology to immunology, I would zip it on shooting down someone else's opinion on the vaccine.
Does Serbian have a PhD in that field?
the only one virtue signaling is youI don't know, but Reep does, and has worked in the field for 22 years.
My point is that people have different opinions on these and just because they don't line up with woke culture doesn't mean they are wrong or bad. I agree that it wasn't expressed well and I don't agree with the whole relationship thing--otherwise we shouldn't have male coaches in female athletics (which happens all the time). Becky feels like the virtue signaling woke choice to me because I don't see anything in her history that would make her a good head coach in the NBA. She was always an offensive focused player, she has never been a head coach (Pop getting ejected doesn't count), she has no evidence of being an asset on defense (see Udoka).
The same thing goes with the off topic vaccine crap. There are people on the extremes on both sides and the reality is that it is a new technology (mRNA vaccines) that has never been approved before, and people should think hard if the risks of taking the vaccine or of COVID are more dangerous.

How is she any different from Udoka/Brett Brown/Bud also stemming from Pop's coaching tree?
She isn't being considered as the next head coach for multiple teams (already rumors coming from Boston) JUST because she's a woman.
the only one virtue signaling is you
i think you need to look up what a "trail blazer" is.So the championships that were won were due to her, not Pops? Stotts won a championship then. We should keep him. And are you seriously arguing that anyone who has played professional ball for 15 years would automatically be a good coach? Really?
Udoka was a fantastic defensive player. Hammon was not. It has nothing to do with her being a woman. She isn't qualified for this team. I feel like the only reason she is being discussed is because she is a woman. A man with her history wouldn't be considered.

The personal insults, telling people to shut up, vaccine talk, and political talk needs to stop now.

But sexism is okay, right?
Bad Dog! Stop Barking, or we'll get you Fixed! The personal insults, telling people to shut up, vaccine talk, and political talk needs to stop now.

Seeing how many of Pop's assistants have gone on to head coaching jobs I don't consider it wrong look at her as a possible candidate.
You can discuss my sex all you want.
