@blazersblog: Some serious "discussions" going on the court right now at Blazers practice. Door shut, muffled "discussions" r audible

Update: Appears to have been an expletive-filled exchange between #Blazers' Andre Miller and McMillan at today's practice.

#Blazers' practice has been stopped for about 20 minutes. A player, likely Andre Miller -- not confirmed -- and coach McMillan trading words

Confirmed: Expetive-filled exchange at #Blazers practice was between Andre Miller and Nate McMillan.

This has been brewing for a long time. While I'm sure that there are disputes between players and Nate from time to time, it's pretty obvious that Nate and Miller are not a good fit. As a player, Nate was never known for playing free and loose and as a coach he seems to be looking for a PG in his own image. That's not Andre Miller, IMO. This may well just blow over, but I think there's a good chance that Miller is the guy traded before the deadline.

McMillan doesn't like point guards that look for easy buckets, get to the foul line, nor push the tempo when the advantage is available. Miller should know to milk the clock in the last 3 minutes while holding onto a six point lead, silly guy.

McMillan is not the guy to take this team to the championship level. Coaches that can't adapt their strategy to fit the strengths of their team will never win in the playoffs. I think McMillan will always be trying to fit a square peg into a round hole just to make himself feel comfortable.

LOL Miller sitting the entire 4th qtr Tuesday after playing very well lately likely was perhaps a final straw

I hate it when the parents fight in front of the kids. What will Bayless learn from this?!

Lol whats Nate's way? Blakey style? I don't like his way if that's the case.

Very interesting.

I'll wait until more info. comes out to give a full opinion. But this could either blow over or end up pretty damn big.

Looks like Andre might be finding the door on his way out.

From the O:

UPDATED: General manager Kevin Pritchard was on hand for the incident and said he was hopeful that it could result in a positive.

"I encourage open and honest dialogue, I think that is always good,'' Pritchard said. "I think it can be (healthy). We have the ability to take it one of two ways and I believe in the character of this team, and you know, I think we can come together.''

Pritchard said the exchange was "normal".

"On every team I have ever been on ... guys have opportunity to speak what they feel. That's OK. The question is, can we become better because of it. Either you can or you can't. I'm hoping we can.''

Pritchard and McMillan both said there would be no punishment forthcoming.

"Absolutely not,'' Pritchard said. "We don't muzzle people. It's like being in a marriage. If you don't say something it builds and builds, then it's said, and when it is and it is honest and open, you can get better from it.''

McMillan was sharp when asked about the exchange between he and Miller.

"I'm not going to comment on my talk with the team. It wasn't with Andre, it was with the team,'' McMillan said. "We talked as a group.''

be careful what you wish for.... who exactly plays pg for us next year?

be careful what you wish for.... who exactly plays pg for us next year?

The same guy that has been playing for the last 3 years on offense - Brandon Roy, and hopefully, a better guy than the one that has played for us on defense in recent years - Bayless (instead of Blake).

Looks like Andre is golden.

Obviously, I don't follow the Blazers. What is the problem with Dre?

Miller was probably arguing the fact that Bayless ratted him out, or about McMillan's shitty use of offensive sets, or not using Andre in the fourth, etc....

Maybe its time to have a player-coach - Andre for coach anyone?

Miller has struggled more than I think any of us expected this year but I think it is becoming apparent that much of that struggle has had to do with Nate and how he wants things done as compared to Miller.

Granted, players need to adapt to coaching systems but coaches also need to adapt to player strengths.

If Nate was not going to use Miller's strength's (and thus hamstring him), why did we sign him? Miller's strengths were by no means unknown.

Gramps...

Nate is stubborn and honestly a really overrated coach. Miller has been playing great lately and we most likely lost the Memphis game due to the fact that he rode the bench for the entire 4th...I love Bayless but Andre is a much better floor general.

Wasn't Nate a big advocate of signing Andre after they had dinner over the summer? Surely he knew Andre's game and if he would fit here by then?
