Fair enough but I'm pretty Sceptical about this. How can you Accidentally overdose. maybe by one or so pills.

"hmmm is 52 pills enough????, One more should do the trick"

I usually agree, but Heath just didn't seem like the kind of guy, you know? It has been reported that he was suffering from pnuemonia, maybe he had a severe reaction to the pills?

If it is indeed a on purpose overdose, I won't feel bad at all.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Heath Ledger plays the Joker, whom the actor described as a "psychopathic, mass murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy".[9] Nolan had wanted to work with Ledger on a number of projects in the past, but had been unable to do so.[10] When Ledger saw Batman Begins, he realized a way to make the character work in that film's tone,[11] and Nolan agreed upon his anarchic interpretation.[10] To prepare for the role he lived alone in a hotel room for a month, formulating the character's posture, voice and psychology.[8] While he initially found it difficult, Ledger was eventually able to generate a voice which did not sound like Jack Nicholson's take on the character in Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film.[12] He started a diary, in which he wrote the Joker's thoughts and feelings to guide himself during his performance.[9] He was also given Batman: The Killing Joke and Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth to read, which he "really tried to read [...] and put it down".[11] Ledger also cited inspiration in A Clockwork Orange and Sid Vicious.[13] Ultimately, "there’s nothing that [is] consistent", as his main objective was to frighten the audience.[13] The challenge of the role put a strain on Ledger's sleep patterns, finding himself unable to rest for more than a few hours each night.[9]</div>

I doubt he got sleeping pills because of how he couldn't rest, since he had been done filming for awhile. But this just shows how dedicated he was to his work. I never knew he got into his roles that much.

There was an article in today's Toronto Star talking about how he might've suffered from some form of depression. He had just recently broken up with someone.

EDIT: Here's the article. Its mostly conjecture, but interesting nonetheless.

I saw this on MSN's front page when I got home yesterday. I was & still am sick. His preparation to play the Joker was intense to say the least. HL said he got very little sleep/ His preparation for another (playing Bob Dylan I think) was also intense.

I was as upset learning this as when I learned about Pat Tillman.

It was my understanding that shooting for TDK has wrapped and they are working SFX and the like.

Further, HL's take on the Joker was darker & more twisted the Jack's and 180 degrees from Caesar Romero's in the Batman TV series of the 60's.

Last & most importantly, Heath Ledger RIP.

I just ordered lunch across the street and the lady who took my order look at me like she was seeing a ghost. She did the ol' double take and then said, "you remind me of the actor who died yesterday."

So you know, if there's work to be done on the Batman flick, I'm just saying I'm available.

Maybe I can convince that hot POA from Dawson's to get back together (for the kid's shake of course).

RIP, big guy.
