Just keep in mind this is going to be tough on her body and remember no birth control is ever 100% effective. The only guarantee of no pregnancy is no sex. And it sounds like this relationship might not be monogamous so you should always do your part to prevent pregnancy and disease by wearing a condom unless you're in a committed monogamous relationship.

Dang, I kind of sounded like a parent there and I've never been one! :dunno:

She went to the obgyn like I said for an ultrasound. The doctor came in after reviewing the results and asked her if she was planning on keeping it. She asked why and the dr said that due to her taking two types of antibiotics (she has had horrible migraines recently)the past few weeks that the lining required to have a health pregnancy was not fully formed. So in other words, she can have kids, just not right now because it started bad because of the antibiotics. The dr informed he she could either see how it goes which I guess is very doubtful or terminate it. She chose to terminate and they did the procedure right then and there. I had no idea this had even a chance of happening today or I would have been there without question.

In one sense Im glad about the reason why she went thru with it. I think it makes it slightly less stressful for her knowing that even if she wanted the pregnancy it wouldnt have worked out...at least this time.

I was just at her place when she got back. Obviously she is feeling down and understandably started sobbing at one point. She said "sorry" to which I replied she had no reason to be. Im just as responsible for this mess.

Thank you for everyone that came with heartfelt honest advice in this thread, especially crandc and Trip Tango who sent me a very good PM.

To whoever this guy is, why didn't you use a proxy, so even the mods wouldn't know who you were?
 
Cause I dont know how and idc if the mods know as long as they keep it to themselves

I have seen this so many times before.....let me start by saying this: She owns your ass....She straight owns you at this point....however, she may not realize the power she has....our laws are so damn messed up that you get 100% responsibility, 100% liability, but 0% rights when it comes to decisions....if she wants to, she can walk away from you, not speak to you for 5 years, and then sue your ass for backed child support, get your wages garnered, get your drivers license taken away, and all the shit that comes with it....thats the sword she wields, and you have no recourse....so you have to play this situation well to avoid future problems....1st, be supportive, but do so by providing leadership....she will submit to you if you approach it correctly....2nd, pray she does not know how powerful she now is....3rd, discourage her from making friends with other pregnant girls, every one is another chance she find out who the boss is....4th, laugh....it will be ok, you may have to go through some BS, but it wont be that bad, so find a way to laugh about it

If you haven't been paying attention, "chick" is a slang word for a woman. Like "guy" is for a man.

There's nothing wrong with slang terms, necessarily.

Irrelevant. Slang changes. That's kind of the essence of slang.

If you're not single and dating now, then what the slang of what women were called ("skirts", "dames", whatever) previously has only historical interest.

Not that I don't appreciate anyone's opinion, but a criticism of the word "chick" by someone who CLEARLY is not in the single, dating, straight world (as crandc is not) just sounds like a cranky old woman trying to take some weak moralist stand against misogyny.

As a part of that world, I don't claim that everything that's done and said is right merely because it happens... but I don't think that knee-jerk criticisms are at all constructive.

I sense some over-reaction. I said nothing about penises or even men in general. I was talking about those who spew outside clinics. Sadly, some are women.

And some of those women come in when they (or their daughters) have unwanted pregnancies. Seriously. Every doc who performs abortions has had the experience of women saying "don't tell anyone because I'm president of Pro Life at my college but this abortion is OK, really".

Poster, if there is another clinic you prefer, that's fine. I don't know where you live or where Planned Parenthood is. Wherever she feels comfortable.

And when you talk this over with her, I know you're upset, please remember she is even more so. Insulting her with statements like "I don't want you to be the mother of my child", even if they are true, are going to trigger a LOT of resentment and anger. Anyway, best of luck to you and to her.
