Zombie Help! I got a chick Pregnant!!!!! (1 Viewer)

First off let me say Im a regular here...I just rather prefer the less people know the better, even my internet dork friends.

Secondly, I posted in the main forum because I want as many people to see so maybe I can get better advice.

I got a girl pregnant and found out 1 hour ago. Fuck... She was on the pill but recently took antibiotics which screwed up her birth control and presto, pregnant

Ive known her for several years. Its an on again off again "friends with benefits" thing. Ya, I know, weird relationship but thats how it is.

So to make a long story short, she was all pissed off, partly at me for not hanging with her this weekend, and partly for something else. She wouldnt tell me so I drove over there and found this out....oh boy oh boy.

She was all emotional and I tried to calm her down the best I could. I did. We talked. I asked her what her opinion on what to do about this is. She says she isnt having a kid, which I wont lie, was music to my ears. She has said before when her friends with kids visit about how much she wouldnt want a kid...so I believe her...should I?

Anybody here deal with this before? I asked her if she was being honest in her opinion of not having the kid and she said yes. Is there a good chance she could get emotional and change her mind? I cant be a dad right now...I really cant. I also dont want her in the near future say "Fuck off, I dont need your help raising the kid." because Im not a total asshole. If there is a kid in the world because of me then its 50% my responsibility period. I cant ignore that. I told her Im very willing to pay and go to any of the things necessary for an abortion (that word never sounded so ugly)

So anyone have an experience like this? Any tidbits of info would be appreciated especially similar past experiences.

You pretty much covered it. Yes, they can change their mind, people do all the time, and on emotional subjects such as that, it can happen over a period of time. The thing to remember is that in life, things don't always go your way, and sometimes you have to live with decisions you have made, sometimes you have to live with decisions somebody else has made. You don't always get a choice. All you can do is make your position clear, and support whatever decision they make.

I dont have any friends that have gone thru this (at least that I know of). Im not saying any advice I get here will be the end all be all. It cant hurt to get as much info as possible.

Like I said in the OP...we were being responsible with birth control...shit happened because of the antibiotics.

Im against people having kids who arent financially and emotionally ready. I am neither of those when it comes to having a kid. I would be a disservice to the kid, me, and the world.

Support her. You guys fucked without a monogamous relationship, but presumably you're still friends. You're in a better position to help her than almost anyone else, and you do have some obligations.

Offer to drive her to and from the procedure. Pay for half of the cost.

I don't think you should feel bad about being happy regarding her decision, but if she changes her mind you just need to man up and do what you need to do.

To be honest if money is an issue, I'd offer to pay the whole cost. A few extra hundred bucks is better than a baby if that's a cause for her to hesitate. I know what you mean though, I've had a few accidents where the girl had to get the Morning After Pill....no kids that I know of here.

My best friend got his ex-girlfriend pregnant during senior year of high school. I was the first person to find out...she called me at 2 a.m. and I went over to her house, took her to the clinic the next day. She was pregnant. The people at the clinic naturally thought I was the dad and gave me such nasty looks. Big black lady with her arms folded saying "nah uh you didn't". Seriously.

As for them, she kept the baby and they have a second daughter as well now (married as well) although I don't know if they're really happy as opposed to going through the motions for the children. That's a lot for a couple of 24 year olds.

I was one of the truly unlucky who got the girl preggo the first time I ever had sex! But what was worse, she was going to have it. Luckily for me, she had a miscarriage. Ever since then, I always wear a raincoat.
