I don't think it's fair. He was hurt. He tried to help the team. He absolutely gave the team a lift in Game 4 and hit the two biggest shots of the 4th quarter. Also- were there any fans that, like he said, "wondered why players like Jerryd Bayless, Dante Cunningham, and Martell Webster were in the game"???

I actually wondered why Roy was in more and they werent. I so appreciate his warrior mentality. but Nate needed to have the cojones to say "you are hurting us more than helping us now" That among a couple other things is what got me off the fence about Nate.

I'm not sure I'd go so far to call him one of the most disappointing players in the playoffs, because he performed pretty much like how I expected him to perform, but Abbot is mostly correct in his assessment that Brandon's presence (aside from the emotional lift he gave in game 4) was more of a distraction and detraction than a help.

Oh well, I just hope his knees hold up next year and he's able to go by the time we get to the post-season; as it is I kind of look at Roy as being a bit like a guy in his early thirties in terms of how many miles are left on the tread of those 'wheels.'

Portland would have lost game 4 if Roy hadn't come back.

Just because he couldn't heroically save the team after that isn't all that disappointing to me.

Besides, who the fuck else was going to play. Before game 4 Bayless and Rudy were sucking piles and piles of dick. They seemed to feed off of Roy's return as much as LMA did.

Disappointing is a player who is able to play well and does not. It is not a player who is unable to play well but tries to suck it up, even if he/she really can't.

Personally, I find Mehmet Okur's performance to be even more disappointing than Roy's. I mean, after all, the guy didn't even play after his injury and he looked terribly unathletic even before he was hurt. The Jazz may even have won a game against the Lakers if Memo would have sucked it up and played. Terribly, terribly disappointing.

Jamal Crawford should be on at least one of those lists. He shot 36% for the playoffs and had a sub-14 PER. He was the very definintion of a second scorer who was wildly inconsistent in the playoffs.

I agree with the general sentiment - but going into the season, "winning a 1st round series" hardly seemed like an unreal expectation.

Seemed very unlikely to me all year long, having dumped Sergio and then Steve and Travis, for 2 aging (1 unmotivated) short-timers who didn't fit our original rebuild plan at all.

Low expectations create more happiness in real life, but not for me in the predictions game this season. They just kept winning despite injuries.

He hasn't really been pro Blazers ever since was hired by ESPN. Yes, he still mentions them and writes positive things, but he also writes randoms negative things just to prove he 'isn't a biased homer'. Despite Rudy's problems in the playoffs he was playing great in game 6, then McMillian put in Roy and the Suns went on a run that decided the game. Roy shot 30.3% from the field in the playoffs, that is horrendous; his defense was bad as well.

Incorrect. LMA got many clean looks at the hoop because Brandon was in the game.

The chance of Bayless or Rudy stepping up was far less then the chance that Brandon would get hot in one game. Mostly because Brandon has gotten hot before in the playoffs while Bayless and Rudy have never played well during the money season.

I have a real hard time buying the elbow bullshit line they are feeding us when it was just a couple of games ago, well after the injury occured, that Lebron dropped 24 points in a single quarter. That seems to have escaped many of these peoples minds.

Secondly I would point out, that most players are banged up this time of the season. If you aren't banged up, you are pretty fortunate.
