I've been in and out of some of those other trade threads, but I guess my bottom-line question is: In light of the impending CBA, would it make more sense to just let Miller's and Joel's EC's fall off the books? Conversely, in light of the same CBA status, are their respective EC's of much higher value than they normally would be? Not sure.

I'm just a guy whose mind is on the sun, beach, & sand.

Thanks...................

You should be linking Hawaiian songs.

I can still sing "Red Sails in the Sunset" and "Oh We're Going to a Hukilau" by heart. I learned them in ukulele class in Hawaii, summer after 5th grade.

My island girlfriend there told me that they used to teach a lot of that stuff (Hawaiian language, hula dancing, ukulele, etc.) back when she was in grade school and middle school. An attempt to keep their culture alive and somewhat relevant. However, with the influx of the so-called mainland indoctrination, that's all fell by the wayside. She claims it's all very, very sad how it has played out.

Your island girlfriend surely knows the past better than me. She's probably the one who speared Capt. Cook. Anyway, American Indians probably feel the same as she does.

I went back 30 years ago and they had a short little freeway. The place was ruined. Fastest thing when I lived there was the Dillingham Highway. Although dragstrip-length freeways might be fun.

My father lived in Hawaii until he was 14, before it was a state. When they moved to LA he said his biggest adjustment was having to wear shoes.

Yeah, in Hawaii they made fun of me for wearing sandals at school. They all went barefoot. I had tough feet there, red from the volcanic dirt. Then in California I went barefoot at home, but not at school. We skateboarded barefoot, and when you jumped off onto the sidewalk, it hurt. I moved to the Northwest the same time Walton did. I read in the paper him saying, "My feet are COLD all the time, man." I was amazed. I thought I was the only one with freezing feet. I quickly learned to wear shoes indoors.

This is fascinating stuff, no? You guys want me to write a biography of my feet, just ask. They've seen a lot.
