Trade those expiring contracts of Andre Miller and Joel Pryzbilla? Well, sure -- if you can get something worth as much or more in return. But the problem with that is twofold. First, there aren't a lot of teams ready at this point of the season to admit they're already out of the running for a playoff spot and would want to shed good players for expiring contracts. And there are plenty of teams who aren't sure yet if they're in position to make a run at a championship -- and thus, would think one of those two players is the missing piece.
Those sort of deals are usually made in the week prior to the trading deadline in February.

Pretty much what I've been saying in other threads. As I see it, the most likely thing Cho may do in the short term is use the Disabled Player Exception to pick up a player that another team may want to move. Maybe a backup at the PF spot. Other than that, I think we're looking at sitting until the deadline.

I don't really get why this affirms some "pot stirring" theory? Jaynes had advertisers that paid him some money on his old website and now that he's left the MSP show, he's a full-time Comcast employee, extending his "Talkin' Ball" gig into writing for them too.

Maybe I don't see any pot stirring because I think he's dead-on in his latest article.

I agree with what he says as well, but I'm curious what this looks like -->

Most of those we could trade either are expiring contracts or cheap role players (other than maybe LaMarcus?). I'm guessing it means we don't trade Joel, don't option Dre' and possibly trade Marcus to get out from under his 2011-12 year. Maybe trade the younger, cheaper guys for future picks?

I'm so unsure how to fix what we have I don't even know how to blow things up.

I don't think it means what you suggest at all. Letting expiring contract players walk and trading young cheap players for picks would only happen if A) you were trying to drastically cut salary to something like league minimum levels and B) you'd dump cheap young talent if you thought they were total garbage. I don't see either at play here.

In all likelihood "blowing it up" would mean trading those older vets to a team on the cusp of a playoff run in exchange for picks or a young player with "potential" along with a semi-bad contract to balance it out. Trading your young guys might be done in some kind of combination deal, but that's hard to predict. Mainly, it just means that the team would be looking to get younger and try to acquire some assets with an eye to the future.
