Very cool. Entomology not my specialty but I know planting a garden creates an ecosystem, animals go where food is. Insects, spiders, worms, other invertebrates, I have seen lizards, salamanders, turtles, countless bird species, mice, rats, squirrels, snakes, raccoons, gray foxes, possums and the neighborhood cats. Not all these guests are welcome. I try to leave them be except the destructive ones (snails, aphids, fungi on roses & fruit trees, squirrels, raccoons).

Forgot to mention skunks. Harmless if unnerving. One came into my house through the cat door night before Thanksgiving and I had to coax it outside without scaring it.

If you get one of those young, they make a marvelous pet. I had one for about 2 years when I was a kid. When it decided to leave though, that was it. Off it went.

I was not going to find out if it was tamable. All I could think of was what would happen to my Thanksgiving if it sprayed.

I had a friend in college who was into entomology. He was killed in Vietnam. Broke my heart. He wasn't the only one. Life is precious.
