Help me out a little, since I'm a newbie. How is this board different from the other one? I notice that profanity is allowed. Any other major differences?

Yes, profanity is allowed. Things are quite a bit more open here. You'll notice on the OT board a sticky thread for Stupid Random Thoughts. It was agreed to as a way of dealing with some threads that were, IMO, over the top inflamatory. Basically, the deal is that people who want to post stuff like that will keep it in that thread. Other than that, no personal attacks, but say what you like.
