I heard Lents came close to getting a baseball team. First Beaverton, then Lents and out of no where Hillsboro . . . without knowing the politics, I guess Hillsboro was the only city that could pony up some money to get a team.

Intel, like most big companies on the west side, doesn't pay taxes.
