I'll give that Big L track a B....its a cool track..but L didn't really say much on that track, he just had a lot of clever lines.

Saigon feat Trey Songz- Pain In My Life

I think Sai is the best to come out NY in a minute.

Saigon is the ****. I do agree that he is one of the best that's come out of NY in while. The only reason it wasn't a blown out A is because Trey Songz part got a little repetitive. Otherwise, great song.

Common Market - Trinity

A, surprisingly good. Love the flow and the beat itself. Lyrics aren't bad as well. Who are these guys?

Papoose- Monopoly (one of my favorite Papoose tracks)

Two duded from Seattle. KRS dubbed them as "spitting in the Tradition of the conscious Hip-Hop movement," and boy do they ever. They're easily my favorite new sound I've heard all year. With that link, as you've probably gathered you can listen to the whole album online. Very intelligent guys too BTW.

"Monopoly" - Papoose

C+

Decent song, I liked how he rapped over Mario's "Let Me Love You", although it got annoying hearing the "mmmm uh, mmmm yeah" over and over again, plus it took away from hearing Pap. Nice song though.

That's weird because this song has been stuck in my head all day. I heard it on the radio earlier and that beat always sticks with me. This song is great for dancing and grinding at parties and stuff.

Baby Boy feat. Mannie Fresh - Naw Mean (I love the beat in this song)

C

Great beat to the song. The lyrics are alright, but their voices just kills it.

I love this song. Definitely one of the best ever. Great everything. It pumps me up too.

The video doesn't work for me, does it work for everyone else? If no one else can see it, here's a video.....

Edit: Mine didn't come up either, so it's probably just me.....

That's the Eminem I miss. During that time he was at the top of his game.

One of the best beats I've heard. Goodass lyrics too.

The first dude rapping was extremely annoying. And I'm not a fan of Young Joc either, just a bad song.

Another great song by Pac. A true classic.

I appreciate the effort, but Akon is so goddamn annoying. Must he ruin every song? I can't stand anything that involved music and him.

Zion I - Soo Tall

B I like the video, but not his best work.

Gangstarr with Nice & Smooth - DWYCK

Your video's been removed from YouTube, and I can't find another one. I'm going to just recommend another video to keep the thread moving, but if you feel like you got skipped over, then feel free and ignore mine and re-recommend another one.

New Vid:

Young MC - Bust a Move

It's sort of a joke lyrically and whatnot, but the bass line is great. It was done by Michael Balzary (he's shown in the video), who's the best bassist alive as far as I'm concerned.

LOL, I'll give it a C+ because like you said the bass line and beat is all right.

Tech N9ne feat. Brotha Lynch, Dalima - My World

It gets an A just because Brotha Lynch is so ridiculous. I liked the sampling of the kids too.

(LMFAO @ the short replies on rating in the hip hop vs. the music forum btw)

New Song:

Da Volunteers - What's Yo Favorite Color?

Forget Three Six Mafia. These guys are legit Memphis rap.

Brotherhood Creed - Helluva </div>

Can't get it to work bro, and since this recommendation thread is dead. Here's some mo, their lyrics are pretty brilliant in most their songs.

B+ Feel bad for VC not getting a reply right after he said the replies were short. Southern Rap sure as hell beats the hyphy movement going on here. That song gets the energy flowin' and get you pumped while Hyphy makes you go all crazy and shiznit.

Hilltop Hoods - "What a Great Night"
