...what a freaking joke...it's rather obvious that there are many voters out there who don't have a clue.

It really is a mess. Who do you have the most issue with? Mine is how players of the PED era have been all linked regardless of known or unknown use. If the PED era is taboo as voting would indicate, then explain LaRusso's inclusion.

...I had a problem with the half-wits who left Maddux of their ballot....Biggio should have been elected...Raines should be in....and Mussina should be in.

...I also had a problem with somehow joining Maddux and Glavine at the hip as some sort of package deal. Glavine was a fine pitcher but let's face it, he pitched in the NL his entire career...Moose pitched his entire career in the AL EAST ...their ERAs are close but Moose walked fewer batters, struck out more batters and had a considerably lower WHIP...but Glavine gets a whopping 92% of the votes while Mussina only gets 20% ?...gimme a break.

Someone actually voted for Armando Benitez and Jacque Jones for HOF induction? Completely ridiculous.

Vette, they had to be relatives lol. I would love to ask the 2.5% that didn't vote for Maddux their reasons why.

...the really sad and scary thing is that "2%" works out to be 16 voters...yup, SIXTEEN !....I mean WTF?

And then you read that LeBedard was the one who gave away his vote to deadspin. He should lose his right to vote for life.

Can someone please supply the link with the votes. I'd appreciate it.

Le Betard; "I probably won't have [a vote] next year because I gave mine to Deadspin," he said, "because I don't like how they do business over there at the Hall of Fame, where they're sitting there and they're being sanctimonious and they're keeping all the steroid guys out."

...no dumbass, you probably won't have a vote next year because you don't deserve one. The HOF does not cast the votes, the BBWAA does.

^^^^ I can't stand the standards of sportswriters today.

I am surprised that Biggio and Piazza didn't make it... and that Mussina or Edgar didn't get more votes... didn't think they'd make it, but thought they'd be much closer than they were... Knew Mattingly was going to get disrespected as usual... But on the flip side, Clemens, Bonds, Schilling, McGwire, Sosa, & Palmeiro all got WAY more votes than they should have...

Steve for what its worth though only slightly both Clemens & Bonds both went down. McGwire went from I believe 16% to 11%. Sosa barely made the 5% needed & with Palmeiro getting less then 5% he's officially off the ballot now. On a sad note this was Morris's 15th & final chance to make it. Now he'll have to wait for the veterans committee to vote him in sometime in the future. And no way did Schilling deserve more votes then Mussina.

And Frank, thanks for the link.

Agreed regarding Schilling/Mussina... Clemens, Bonds, Schilling, McGwire, Sosa, and Palmeiro should never see their names in the HOF...

To a point I can see Clemens & Bonds on the ballot if for no other reason but because the path there careers were on prior to the PEDs. But I agree on all the others.

Very surprised that not only Piazza didn't make it, but really wasn't that close to making it. For a catcher to play that long and put up those numbers - not sure where these guys are downgrading him on.

Piazza like Bagwell have that cloud of SUSPECTED steroid use. Which is pure bullshit to me.

So let me get this right, MLB.com had 2 writers, one who only voted for Jack Morris and nobody else. The other was a joke to. And as one comment quoted "So a guy like LeBartard has a vote but a guy like Vin Scully who has been in baseball since dirt doesn't" pretty much sums it up. So a guy like Biggio misses by 2 votes. Totally unfair.

...they may as well give the ability to vote exclusively to 3rd graders.

agreed

The guy they should ban is George A King of the NY Post. He voted for Bonds, Clemens, Sosa, McGwire & Palmiero. And Mike Vaccaro didn't vote for Biggio but did vote for Bonds, Clemens, Schilling & Morris & Bagwell.

I don't have an issue with the Morris vote, but all others, yes

They should review all writers and revoke privileges to those who have exhibited a personal vendetta or agendas such as LeBetard

Why Rick? Pre steroid era Bonds and Clemens were sure HOF material. Now we can not confirm nor deny how many or what percentage of all players were using during the steroid era. If more than 50% were users, then the numbers put up by Bonds and Clemens were on par with the competition they played against.

And its because of that reasoning that I think they should release all 102 names & not just a selected few that I'm sure were chosen by Selig.

...the HOF is based an a player's whole body of work, period. No one knows for sure when the steroid era really began so saying Bonds or Clemens were already HOF material is speculation and exactly when they began juicing cannot be proven or disproven. They are both cheats and what they did earlier in their careers is irrelevant.

...I'm sure Bernie Madoff was a well respected investor at one time too...should he also be given a pass based on that?
