I have a different take...

I think the Hornets and Cavs are making a series of deals that will end up with the Hornets and Cavs doing a sign and trade involving Sasha Pavlovic.

Here's what has already happened...

--Cavs sign Devin Brown, Hornet guard...and Sasha Pavlovic insurance/replacement.

--Cavs trade David Wesley, a 37 year old combo guard with a contract that is only partially guaranteed for Cedric Simmons, a raw 21 year old 6'10" PF with potential.

Both deals are lopsided toward the Cavs...so what is the next move...the one that evens it all out?

--Cavs and Hornets work a sign and trade in which Sasha Pavlovic goes to New Orleans to play with fellow Serb and former teammate Peja Stojakovic. In return, some bad contract goes the other way (Bobby Jackson?) permitting Hornets to pay Pavlovic what he wants.

I don't know why this would have to done in this manner. BYC? TE? Just some speculation.
